Labut is one of the most unique villains in Witchy Precure!. With his bright orange skin, chubby body, and black hair with two big horns, he grabs attention right away. Labut is lazy, not really loyal to Deusmast, and likes to make others do the work for him. Still, he is super powerful, able to create barriers, control energy, and even completely shut down the attacks from the Precure with ease. His first appearance is mysterious, and he helps bring back Yamoh for his own convenience. Labut’s battles against the Precure are always full of tension—they struggle a lot against him because of his overwhelming strength, until they unlock new powers. In the end, after an epic fight, Labut is defeated, showing both his pride and his downfall. His story adds depth and excitement to Witchy Precure!.
Labut is a large, round man with orange-red skin.
He has long, black hair and two big, split horns on his head.
He usually wears a red tank top and brown pants.
His most special feature is moving around on a floating cloud, like a genie.
When he uses his full power, his body becomes even larger and more muscular, his horns grow longer, and his eyes turn bright red.
Strange marks appear on his stomach in this form.
Even when he is big and muscular, he can easily turn back to being round and chubby if he gets distracted.
Labut is extremely lazy.
He doesn’t like anything that takes effort, even using his incredible powers.
He calls himself “Ore” (a casual way of saying “I” in Japanese).
He tries to avoid fighting Precure and hopes someone else will beat them for him.
When he does fight, he is very arrogant and sure he can’t lose.
He looks down on magic and laughs at people who have to study to use it.
Labut thinks the power of Muhou (his brand of chaos magic) is better than anything else.
He doesn’t really want to help Deusmast, his boss, but goes along with the plan because it’s easier.
He is sneaky and tries to make others do the hard work.
Still, when things don’t go his way, he can become petty and even cruel in battle.
Labut is one of the four main servants of Deusmast, called the Followers of Endless Chaos.
He slept for a long time inside a lamp hidden in a desert ruin, sealed away until his return.
When the lamp was broken, Labut woke up to cause chaos again.
Just like the other Followers of Deusmast, Labut has a natural power called Muhou, which lets him break the rules of the world and do almost anything with just a snap of his fingers.
He is supposed to stop anyone who could defeat Deusmast before Deusmast comes back to the world.
At first, he didn’t know about the Precure, but once he learns of them, he adds them to his target list.
Labut’s powers are really strong.
He can create purple energy barriers by snapping his fingers—these stop anyone from entering or leaving.
He has the power to give energy to other evil beings.
He can shoot huge purple beams of energy.
His fighting skills are so good that he can stop Cure Felice’s kick with one arm.
Normal attacks from Cure Miracle and Cure Magical can’t beat him.
Labut’s cloud acts as his vehicle and may connect him to wind elements.
When he is serious, he becomes even stronger, with muscles and new abilities.
He can knock back the Precure with powerful shockwaves, just by swinging his arms or head.
His fat even acts as a kind of armor, making him almost impossible to hurt with magic.
Labut works under Deusmast but isn’t really loyal to him.
He tries to let others, like Yamoh, do the fighting instead.
Labut sometimes jokes around with Yamoh, but he has no real friends or equals.
He is one of the four main servants, along with Shakince, Benigyo, and Orba, but their working relationship is more about competition and showing off.
- “Hey there, Precure girls. Sorry, but could you disappear for me?”
- “Looks like he’s not here today.”
- “Alright, today I’m feeling extra pumped!”
- “Okay, maybe I’ll get serious now!”
- “So what? Your magic is nothing against my Muhou power!”
Mysterious Awakening
Labut first appears in episode 22.
At this time, no one knows about Deusmast, so he looks like a completely new villain.
After escaping from the ruined lamp in the desert, he is surprised by how the normal world has changed and sees a big city (modeled after Dubai).
He checks on the magic world and finds the Magic School’s big tree still around.
He finds a broken piece of Yamoh’s tail with darkness inside and brings Yamoh back to life using Muhou power.
Making Others Fight
Labut gives Yamoh energy but doesn’t tell him who he is.
He lets Yamoh try to fight Precure for revenge, thinking it will be less work for himself.
Labut amusedly watches Yamoh lose again and again but doesn’t help at all.
It’s like he’s watching a movie and eating popcorn, waiting to see what happens.
Face to Face with Precure
After Yamoh is defeated in episode 26, Labut finally appears before the Precure himself.
He explains his origin and mission, and easily overpowers the girls with his Donyokubaru minions.
Magic and even Cure Felice’s kick have no effect.
Still, every time he retreats, he acts like it’s no big deal, believing he can win any time he really tries.
Getting Serious
In episode 30, two other followers, Shakince and Benigyo, wake up and scold Labut for not beating Precure yet.
Feeling embarrassed, Labut decides to get serious and tries to defeat the girls himself.
However, Cure Miracle’s powerful determination scares him, and he escapes, not realizing he felt fear for the first time.
The Final Battle
Labut attacks again in episode 31, trapping the Precure in a strange world between the magic and human worlds.
He turns into his final form: bigger, stronger, and even more dangerous.
Even together, the girls can’t hurt him, and he taunts them, holding back the finishing blow while toying with them.
He hits the girls so hard that they are separated.
As Labut is about to finish Cure Miracle, her strong wish to be together with her friends awakens new power in the girls.
With the help of the Rainbow Carriage, the Precure unlock Alexandrite Style and use their strongest attack, Precure Extreme Rainbow.
For the first time, Labut is truly shocked.
He is finally overwhelmed by the blast of rainbow magic and disappears.
Return and End
Later, during the last episodes, Labut is temporarily revived with the other servants by Deusmast’s power, but has no will of his own.
During the final fight, when Deusmast is purified, Labut is also completely erased.
- Labut is inspired by genies from Arabian Nights.
- His name may come from the gemstone “Labradorite,” or maybe from the word “Taboo” or the region “Arab.”
- In Indonesia and Malaysia, "Labut" is the name of a traditional musical instrument.
Labut only personally fights the Precure in four episodes: 27, 28, 30, and 31.
Despite being lazy and careless, he gives Precure their most challenging battles.
His overconfidence is his biggest weakness.
Even after losing, he never fully realizes how outmatched he is, making his defeat both comical and tragic.
He’s a rare case in Precure history of a Four Heavenly Kings-type villain who is strongest at the start, before Precure’s new powers, and whose battles are the most difficult for the heroes.
