Bulat is a muscular and caring member of the assassin group Night Raid, serving as a big-brother figure and mentor to the protagonist, Tatsumi.
Bulat is a tall man in his mid-2enties, defined by his well-trained, muscular physique and a trademark black pompadour hairstyle.
He adopted this look as a way to reinvent himself upon joining Night Raid.
In his past as an Imperial soldier, he wore his hair down and was considered so handsome that he looked like a completely different person.
With a boisterous and hearty personality, Bulat is the quintessential "big brother" figure, known for being incredibly caring.
He holds a strong belief in Tatsumi's potential, hoping that one day the younger boy might even surpass him.
However, he is also a realist who often confronts Tatsumi with the harsh and unforgiving nature of being an assassin.
There are suspicions about his sexuality due to his tendency to blush during conversations with Tatsumi, though whether this is genuine or just teasing is a mystery.
He has a hot-blooded and straightforward heart but is fully aware of his position as a killer and is prepared to face the consequences.
Bulat is a member of the assassin group, Night Raid.
He was once a high-ranking and capable officer in the Imperial Army, where he earned the moniker "100-Man-Slayer Bulat."
His superior officer at the time was Liver, a man he greatly respected.
However, when Liver was unjustly demoted for refusing to bribe the corrupt Prime Minister Honest despite his many achievements, Bulat's faith in the Empire shattered.
After being framed for a crime himself, he realized the depth of the Empire's corruption, used his Imperial Arms, Incursio, to turn invisible and escape, and defected to the Revolutionary Army.
Even during his time in the army, Bulat was a formidable warrior known as the "100-Man-Slayer."
His combat prowess is considered top-tier within Night Raid, with Nyau even claiming he might be "second only to Lady Esdeath."
He possesses immense strength even without his Imperial Arms and is noted for his sharp insight and judgment in battle, surpassing even Akame in this regard.
In the early parts of the story, he was unquestionably Night Raid's greatest military asset.
Demon Armor: Incursio
This is an armor-type Imperial Arms.
When used by Bulat, Incursio has a relatively simple design, lacking armor plating on the forearms and waist.
He wears it with a coat rather than a cape and keeps the auxiliary weapon, Neuntote, constantly equipped on his back.

Mentoring Tatsumi
As a member of Night Raid, Bulat quickly takes on the role of a mentor and big brother to the newly recruited Tatsumi.
He sees great potential in Tatsumi and teaches him many valuable lessons about what it means to be a warrior and an assassin.
Final Mission
During a mission to protect an anti-minister official, Bulat and Tatsumi board a luxury cruise ship.
The ship is attacked by the Three Beasts, a group of Imperial Arms users directly under Esdeath's command.
After saving Tatsumi from a difficult fight, Bulat single-handedly and instantly kills the beast-man Daidara.
He then faces his former, now-corrupted superior, Liver, in a fierce battle.
Though at a disadvantage fighting on water, Liver's specialty, Bulat ultimately emerges victorious through pure swordsmanship.
However, in his final moments, Liver unleashes a hidden technique, injecting Bulat with a lethal poison.
Realizing his death is imminent, Bulat entrusts his Imperial Arms, Incursio, to Tatsumi.
He passes away peacefully after watching Tatsumi bravely fight in his stead.
Bulat's influence on Tatsumi is profound, inspiring him to train relentlessly to follow in his footsteps and eventually surpass him.
Akame ga Kill! Zero
Bulat also appears in the prequel series, where he fought against Akame when she was sent to assassinate Najenda, whom he was guarding at the time.
His voice actor, Katsuyuki Konishi, was a personality on an internet radio show related to a game the author wrote the scenario for. He mentioned the manga on the show and insisted he would "definitely get a role if it gets animated."
Despite the large cast of beautiful female characters in *Akame ga Kill!*, Bulat's strong, manly spirit made him incredibly popular. He placed 5th in an official character poll, the only male character to make the top 5.
The hairstyle he had in his military days was intentionally similar to Tatsumi's, serving as foreshadowing for Tatsumi inheriting Incursio.
His voice actor also voices Kamina from *Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann*, another famous "Aniki" (big brother) type character.
