Van Reichnott is a nobleman supportive of demi-humans, with a large population of demi-humans residing in his town. After the first Wave in Melromarc, nobles who shared the same ideals as Eclair Seaetto’s late father—who died in battle—were demoted by Aultcray Melromarc XXXII, and Van Reichnott was among them. He sheltered Naofumi Iwatani and Melty Q Melromarc while they were on the run. Although he is a sensible and reasonable person, his personality is not entirely straightforward.
While hiding Naofumi and his group in his mansion, Van Reichnott was captured by Idol Rabier, tortured, but did not reveal any information and was eventually rescued by Naofumi. Afterwards, he looked after Keel, but due to the ordeal, his body was weakened and he remained in his territory to recover. When Naofumi and his companions returned from Cal Mira Island, Van Reichnott and Keel welcomed them, and he entrusted Keel to Naofumi.
In the novel adaptation "The Reprise of the Spear Hero" during the Melromarc arc, it is depicted that during the revolution, Van Reichnott was killed by the Three Heroes Church as an example to the revolutionary faction, and the villagers were also massacred.
