Jericho is ambitious, prideful, and deeply driven by a desire to become stronger and be recognized.

She has a strong inferiority complex about being weaker than her older brother Gustaf and about being a woman in a combat-focused order.

She initially dresses and speaks like a man, referring to herself with masculine language in the original, to appear stronger and hide her insecurity.

Despite her rough, boyish speech and habit of calling herself “me” in a tough, masculine way, she is fundamentally honest, straightforward, and fairly sensible.

Jericho comes from an upper-class family, which shows in her taste for frilly, feminine clothing when off duty.

She is also a good cook and has many traditionally “girly” traits that contrast with her usual tough persona.

Physically, she is relatively small and slender but with a very voluptuous figure, especially emphasized in the anime and spin-offs.

Her large chest and glamorous body are often used as a comedic element, especially in The Seven Deadly Sins: Academy.

Her hair color varies: in the original color art it is usually brown (sometimes silver), while in the anime it is a light purple.

Her hairstyle changes frequently, sometimes tied, sometimes loose, in a way that is joked about as “author’s convenience.”

Jericho is the younger sister of the Holy Knight Gustaf, who possesses the ice-based magic “Ice Fang.”

Their relationship is strained; she resents always living in his shadow and being seen as weaker and “just a girl,” yet deep down, she admires him greatly.

Her core motivation for becoming stronger, and even for “throwing away her femininity,” is her desire to have Gustaf acknowledge and praise her.

This inferiority complex and ambition eventually push her into dangerous choices, including drinking demon blood to gain power.

In a comedic but formative childhood incident, Ban once stole her stuffed toy when she was a little girl.

This event indirectly pushed her toward becoming a Holy Knight and trying to become “tough,” and in a bonus story she even childishly “proposes” to Ban as a kid.

Jericho is a close-range fighter who relies on speed, agile swordsmanship, and later ice magic.

Even before her true magic awakens, she is skilled enough to earn praise for her sword technique, which Ban jokingly calls “talent for haircuts.”

She specializes in extremely fast slashing attacks that can overwhelm opponents in short bursts.

Notably, she can inflict wounds on Ban’s otherwise instant-healing immortal body that do not recover immediately, hinting at special properties in her attacks.

Magic: Ice Fang

Name: Ice Fang

Type: Ice manipulation

Description: Jericho can freeze moisture in the air, creating ice-based offensive and defensive techniques.

This is her true magic, which fully awakens after the death of her brother Gustaf.

Known Techniques:

Freeze Coffin

Jericho instantly encases her opponent in ice, effectively immobilizing them.

It functions like a one-shot freezing spell, turning enemies into ice statues.

Killer Iceberg

She creates multiple sharp ice masses and launches them at the enemy like lethal projectiles.

It is used for mid- to long-range attacks and area control.

Freeze Saber

Jericho envelops her sword in frigid energy, increasing its cutting power and adding freezing effects to her strikes.

This allows her to combine skilled swordplay with elemental damage.

Freeze Shield

She generates a shield made of crystalline ice to block incoming attacks.

The shield takes the form of a multi-faceted crystal barrier.

Magic: Unnamed (New Generation)

Name: Unknown (Unnamed magic granted by demon blood, later lost)

Type: Enhancement / special effect (speculated)

After drinking demon blood supplied by Hendrickson as part of the “New Generation” project, Jericho temporarily awakens a different magic.

This power greatly boosts her speed and striking power and carries a special effect that interferes with Ban’s regeneration.

Her magic is so strange that King speculates it might involve illusions or time manipulation, but no definitive explanation or formal name is given in the story.

This demonic magic is completely lost when Ban destroys the demon “core” inside her during the Capital of the Dead battle.

Named sword techniques associated with this power:

Godspeed Ten-Slash

Jericho swings once, but delivers ten slashes in an instant.

It effectively multiplies her attack output and is used to shred opponents in a heartbeat.

Godspeed Bone-Cutter

A technique where she closes distance instantly and attempts a single, full-power cut to carve into the opponent.

In the story, this technique is introduced but never successfully lands.

Early Role: Bast Prison and Ban

At the start of her story, Jericho is assigned as a Holy Knight apprentice to guard Bast Prison, a remote and grueling post.

During Ban’s escape from Bast, she confronts him and is completely humiliated.

Ban strips her of her armor and clothes, leaving her exposed in only her underwear in front of her subordinates.

On top of that, he casually comments that her sword skill is more suited to “haircuts,” severely wounding her pride.

This traumatic and embarrassing defeat becomes the core of her early character arc.

She is utterly determined to take revenge on Ban and to prove she is not weak.

Becoming New Generation

Hendrickson tempts Jericho with the offer of power via demon blood.

Driven by her wounded pride, jealousy of her brother, and desire to be strong, she drinks the blood and survives, becoming one of the “New Generation” Holy Knights.

Her body changes as her new magic manifests: she stops cross-dressing and adopts more openly feminine armor and appearance.

With this new power, she fights Ban again and, thanks to his weakened state from demon blood backlash, soundly defeats him.

However, when King intervenes, Jericho is completely outmatched, revealing that her new strength has limits.

Later, during Meliodas’s awakening, she is heavily injured and only escapes because Helbram pulls her out of the battle.

At this stage, Jericho’s loyalty is not to Hendrickson or the kingdom, but almost entirely focused on Ban and her own ambitions.

She is skeptical of her superiors’ schemes and has little interest in Hendrickson’s grand plans.

Doubts, Griamore’s Family, and the Capital Battle

Jericho’s independent streak leads her to quietly investigate Hendrickson’s actions.

She finds relics belonging to Guila’s father, helping push Guila toward doubting Hendrickson and eventually defecting.

During the assault on the capital, Jericho hopes to use the chaos to climb in rank and gain recognition.

Instead, she is defeated when Guila turns against Hendrickson and joins The Seven Deadly Sins and their allies.

Hendrickson then uses a spell that causes the demon blood in Jericho and other New Generation knights to go berserk.

Jericho transforms into a demon-like monster, loses control, and begs Ban to kill her to end her suffering.

Ban instead saves her by destroying the demon core inside her and carrying her princess-style as he rescues her.

This act both frees her from the demon’s control and erases her New Generation magic, returning her to a state of low magic power.

After this, Jericho begins to genuinely fall in love with Ban.

Her rage-driven obsession transforms into a more honest, if one-sided, romantic affection.

Traveling With Ban and Elaine

After the capital arc, Ban leaves the main group and heads toward the Fairy King’s Forest.

Jericho secretly follows him and ends up tagging along in a very forceful but somewhat comedic way.

She rebrands herself as Ban’s “disciple” so she can stay close to him, even though Ban treats her more like a younger sister and traveling wallet.

Jericho tries to use the fact that she is alive and physically present as an advantage over the dead Elaine, telling herself she has a chance.

When Ban and Jericho encounter Zhivago, Ban’s old mentor and foster father, they stay with him until his death.

Jericho witnesses Ban’s pain and supports him, her feelings deepening further.

Later, Melascula uses her magic to resurrect Elaine, who then attacks Ban in a twisted, jealous state.

Jericho initially feels threatened and jealous, but she refuses to accept Elaine harming Ban and confronts Elaine head-on, emotionally and physically.

Seeing Ban’s heart is entirely filled by Elaine, Jericho painfully accepts that there is no room for her romantically.

Still, she throws herself in front of danger to protect both Ban and Elaine when the Ten Commandments members Galland and Melascula appear.

Jericho grabs the unconscious Ban and weakened Elaine and escapes, risking her life to get them to safety.

They end up under the protection of Escanor, the owner of a tavern and a future member of The Seven Deadly Sins.

Jericho’s courage and selflessness during this escape are key to breaking Elaine’s distrust of humans.

From then on, Elaine and Jericho grow close, and Jericho becomes Elaine’s friend despite their love-rival history.

Later Developments and Ice Fang Awakening

After the battle to retake the capital and the resolution of the demon blood incident, Jericho temporarily loses access to her magic.

She returns to more ordinary Holy Knight duties and continues to live with the lingering emotional scars of her experiences.

During later conflicts against demons, Jericho’s brother Gustaf dies.

The shock and grief of losing him, combined with her own growth, awakens her true magic: Ice Fang, the same elemental attribute as Gustaf.

With Ice Fang, Jericho finally gains power that is truly her own and yet connected to her brother’s legacy.

She becomes capable of advanced ice techniques, balancing offense and defense and showing the potential she always longed for.

After the main story ends, Jericho serves as a Holy Knight of Benwick, the kingdom ruled by Ban and Elaine.

She acts as a retainer and mentor to their son, Lancelot, who calls her “master” and trains under her.

At some point, a mysterious “spiriting away” incident occurs.

Jericho realizes Lancelot’s intentions and accompanies him, trying to warn Ban and Elaine of the danger, but ends up vanishing together with Lancelot.

In Four Knights of the Apocalypse, it is revealed that Jericho and Lancelot spent three years together in another world after the “spiriting away.”

During those three isolated years, Jericho develops an intense romantic love for Lancelot, far beyond simple teacher-student affection.

This creates a painful internal conflict for Jericho, because Lancelot is both her disciple and the son of the man she once loved, Ban.

Torn between her feelings and her sense of responsibility and ethics, she chooses to leave Lancelot’s side, unable to reconcile the situation.

At this vulnerable moment, Arthur Pendragon exploits her emotional turmoil.

He tempts her with the promise of a world where there exists a Lancelot who truly loves her.

Jericho, unable to completely escape her feelings and shaken by Arthur’s offer, defects to Camelot.

She becomes a Chaos Knight under Arthur, wearing armor that includes a helmet decorated with star motifs.

As a Chaos Knight, Jericho is positioned as an enemy to the heroes, while still carrying unresolved feelings for Lancelot.

Her story in Four Knights of the Apocalypse becomes a tragic continuation of her long history of unrequited love and conflicted loyalties.

Gustaf

Gustaf is Jericho’s older brother and a Holy Knight with ice magic.

Jericho’s lifelong desire to be strong and her insecurity about her own weakness originate in constant comparison with him.

Their relationship is full of misunderstanding and unspoken affection.

Jericho believes he looks down on her, but in reality he cares deeply, while she secretly strives to make him proud.

His death is the catalyst that awakens Jericho’s true ice magic.

Through Ice Fang, she inherits not only his power but also a part of his spirit and legacy.

Ban

Ban is the core figure in Jericho’s life arc.

He is at once her childhood tormentor, her humiliating defeat, her savior, and her unattainable love.

As a child, she was one of Ban’s “victims” when he stole her stuffed toy, pushing her toward becoming tough and boyish.

As an adult, Ban strips her in Bast Prison and trashes her pride, leading her to drink demon blood out of spite and desperation.

Later, Ban saves her life, carries her in his arms, and frees her from the demon inside her.

This act flips her feelings from hatred to love, though Ban himself never reciprocates romantically.

Ban does value Jericho, but as a younger sister, disciple, and traveling companion.

He jokes about her being “his wallet,” yet calls her the first human he felt truly comfortable being around.

Jericho knows Ban’s heart belongs to Elaine, but cannot fully extinguish her feelings.

Even so, she chooses to protect Ban and Elaine at her own risk, proving her love is not purely possessive.

Elaine

Elaine is both Jericho’s rival in love and later one of her closest friends.

At first, Jericho believes she can win because she is alive and physically by Ban’s side, while Elaine is dead.

When Elaine is revived and attacks Ban in a jealous frenzy, Jericho’s jealousy surfaces but is outweighed by her desire to protect Ban.

Jericho’s honest anger and willingness to protect both of them help Elaine regain trust in humans and calm her rage.

After the crisis with the Ten Commandments, Jericho and Elaine’s relationship grows into genuine friendship.

Jericho serves under Ban and Elaine in Benwick and helps raise and train their son Lancelot.

Lancelot

Lancelot, son of Ban and Elaine, is Jericho’s disciple and student in swordsmanship and combat.

He calls Jericho “master,” and for years she acts as his mentor and caretaker.

During the three years they spend together in the other world, their bond deepens in complex ways.

Jericho gradually falls hopelessly in love with him, a love she knows is morally complicated and deeply troubling for her.

This forbidden, conflicting love eventually drives Jericho to walk away from him, trying to choose reason over desire.

Arthur then manipulates these unresolved feelings to recruit her into Camelot as a Chaos Knight.

In the high school parody spin-off The Seven Deadly Sins: Academy, Jericho appears as a student.

She is again part of Ban’s orbit and develops a secret crush on him.

True to the original series, Ban once more ends up stripping Jericho in a comedic scene, playing off their main-series dynamic.

In this setting, both Jericho and Ban are members of the gardening club, adding a peaceful, slice-of-life twist to their relationship.
