Janemba

Janemba is a powerful villain from the movie "Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn." He was created when evil energy collected in a machine in the Other World, merging with a lazy ogre named Saike Demon. This accident caused big trouble, locking down the world of King Yemma and even making dead people come back to life. Janemba first appears as a big, childish monster but soon transforms into a slim red demon called Super Janemba. He fights Goku and Vegeta with magical and tricky powers, nearly beating them both. They finally defeat him by fusing into Gogeta and purifying Janemba with a special attack. Janemba is unique among Dragon Ball villains because of his tricky fighting style and magical abilities.

Janemba first appears as a huge, yellow monster.

His face looks goofy, and he's much bigger than Goku and the others.

He only says his own name, acting very childish.

After being hurt by Super Saiyan 3 Goku, Janemba changes into Super Janemba.

This new form is slimmer and human-sized, with bright red skin and purple horns.

He looks like a demon from the underworld, and this form is much scarier.

At first, Janemba acts like a big child.

He is playful and does not show any feelings or thoughts, only repeating his name.

Even though he behaves silly, he is extremely dangerous and strong.

After transforming, Janemba becomes brutal and clever.

He does not talk much and only makes strange sounds.

He uses sneaky and magical tricks during battle and reads his opponent’s moves very well.

Janemba was formed in the Other World, where souls are cleaned before going to heaven or hell.

A lazy ogre named Saike Demon was in charge of changing the machine's tank that cleans evil energy but ignored his job.

Evil energy built up until it exploded and merged with Saike Demon, turning him into Janemba.

This accident trapped King Yemma’s world with a barrier and brought chaos everywhere.

Janemba uses powers that make him seem like a magician.
He can make clones of himself and move through space instantly.
He uses portals to punch and send energy attacks from anywhere.
After transforming, his powers grow a lot stronger.
He can turn a club into a sword.
Some of his main attacks include:
Shadow Kick: Kick through portals.
Shadow Bullet: Energy shots through portals.
Demon Blade Flash: Slashing with a sword made from his club.
Hell Gate: Big energy blast from his mouth.
Magic Hole: Sends enemy energy attacks back at them.
Demon God Sparkle: Fires many glowing shards at the enemy.
His special trick, called Phantom Body, lets him break apart and reappear somewhere else in an instant.

But, if he is attacked during this, he gets injured in both spots at once.

The Accident in the Other World

In the movie "Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn," the Saike Demon is supposed to manage a machine that cleans up bad energy from souls.

He is lazy and listens to music, ignoring his job.

Because of this, evil energy builds up and finally explodes, turning the Saike Demon into Janemba.

This event traps King Yemma’s world inside a magic barrier and breaks the rules between life and death.

The world becomes chaotic, and even dead people come back to life.

First Clash with Goku

Goku and Paikuhan arrive in King Yemma's world to check out the weird trouble.

They meet Janemba, who looks goofy and childish but is very strong.

Janemba can clone himself, use magical powers, and block all their attacks.

Goku turns Super Saiyan 3 and finally beats him—or so he thinks.

Super Janemba Appears

Janemba transforms into Super Janemba.

He is now slimmer, faster, and much more dangerous.

Super Janemba uses portals, stretches his body, and can counter moves from even the strongest fighters.

He picks up a club, turns it into a sword, and uses sharp attacks.

Goku cannot win, and even when Vegeta joins, Janemba easily wins against them both.

The Final Battle

Goku and Vegeta try to use Fusion, but at first, they mess it up and become Veku, who is clumsy and weak.

Surprisingly, Janemba has trouble fighting Veku because he cannot read Veku's silly moves.

The fusion eventually works, creating Gogeta.

Gogeta uses his Soul Punisher attack to purify Janemba.

Janemba disappears, and only the Saike Demon remains, who runs away in fear after seeing Gogeta.

Aftermath

It is unknown what happens to the Saike Demon.

Since he caused all the trouble, he might get more than just a pay cut.

Official sites once called Super Janemba the strongest movie villain, even stronger than some later enemies.

He was the only one to ever beat Super Saiyan 3 Goku until Beerus appeared.

Janemba was created from the Saike Demon, a careless worker in King Yemma’s world.

He fights Goku, Vegeta, and Paikuhan.

He can communicate with some other dark characters in games and even fuses with others, like Majin Buu, to make weird new villains.

Janemba was designed by animator Naoki Yamamuro, who also made Hatchiyack for a Dragon Ball game.
His main weakness is being insulted.

If someone calls him dumb or useless, he and his barriers can be hurt.

In some games, he teams up or fuses with other villains, making even stranger characters.
Janemba’s voice is performed by Tessho Genda, who also played Bojack in another Dragon Ball movie.

He is the only one so far to voice two original movie bosses in Dragon Ball.
