With Goku

Even though Bulma is the main heroine, she is never romantically involved with Goku.

They start as travel companions and later become close friends.

Both Bulma and Goku find other partners—Bulma dates Yamcha, then marries Vegeta; Goku marries Chi-Chi.

Bulma’s name comes from “bloomers,” a type of gym shorts, not Blue Mountain coffee.

Her family’s names are also based on underwear (for example, her sister is Tights).

Journey for the Dragon Balls

Bulma and Goku meet many allies and face many villains—like the Red Ribbon Army and Jinzouningen 18-gou—on their search.

Bulma's inventions often save the day, and her quick thinking helps the group escape danger.

Although she cannot fight, her courage and ideas are important to their success.

Growing Up and Supporting Goku

As she grows up, Bulma becomes a stronger support, building spaceships for space adventures and inventing new tools for the whole team.

After having Trunks with Vegeta, she helps fight new threats like the androids and Majin Buu by fixing or inventing whatever the team needs.
