Standing at 181 cm, his early years were influenced by his family's interests, especially his older brother.

Sohma made his television debut in 2007 and quickly rose to fame in 2009 with his role as Genta Umemori/Shinken Gold in "Samurai Sentai Shinkenger."

He became well-loved for bringing charm and energy to his characters, especially in roles that required humor and sincerity.

He reprised his Shinken Gold role in various "Super Sentai" films and crossovers, further cementing his status in the tokusatsu community.

In 2021, Sohma took on a major role in "Kamen Rider Saber" as the mysterious and powerful Master Logos/Kamen Rider Solomon, marking his return to the superhero genre after twelve years.

Beside TV, he also performed in several films, such as his lead appearance in "Taiyou kara Plancha" in 2014.

Sohma had an active theater career, starring in stage productions like "Tumbling," "BASARA," and "Samurai Ten Braves."

Throughout his career, he worked under Hirata Office until 2017 and later pursued freelance acting.

In September 2024, after years of entertaining audiences, he informally announced his retirement during a friend's fan club radio program.

Sohma shares a strong friendship with fellow "Shinkenger" actor Hiroki Aiba.

Their bond is so close that they formed a duet unit called MAGNE2 and even arranged to live near each other.

Sohma has often spoken about the camaraderie and mutual support among the "Shinkenger" cast, especially mentioning Tori Matsuzaka as someone who helped him feel welcome during his debut as a mid-season character.
