As the bell-ringer for St. Bel Church, Killbell lived a life plagued by a deep-seated complex regarding his own ugly appearance. His greatest desire was to be reborn, hoping to get back at everyone who had ever ridiculed him.
This intense longing for a new life and revenge is what led him down the dark path to becoming the possessor of a Kishin Egg soul.
The Deceptive Promise
One day, a being known as Grimoire appeared at St. Bel Church, offering Killbell a path to his deepest desire. Grimoire gave him a cocoon and promised that if he filled it with human souls, he would be reborn.
Tragically, this was all a clever ruse; Grimoire was simply using the desperate bell-ringer to gather souls for his own purposes.
Final Confrontation
While carrying out his soul-collecting mission, Killbell ran into Maka Albarn and her friends, who were out on an extracurricular lesson. During the chaos, the precious cocoon was stolen by an unknown party, pushing Killbell over the edge.
Consumed by rage, he lashed out and attacked Maka, only to be swiftly defeated by her powerful "6-Letter Hunt" technique. Killbell was completely annihilated in the battle, leaving behind only his Kishin Egg soul for collection.
