The art teacher is a person who always puts the students first. Even if the drawings by Sakurako Ohmuro or Himawari Furutani are a bit rough, the teacher values their pure-heartedness, and while surprised by Chinatsu Yoshikawa's work, does not hesitate to praise her. This teacher has a long-standing relationship with Nana Nishigaki, a fellow teacher and high school classmate, often asking her to pose as a model for paintings. Additionally, when it comes to her interests, she becomes passionate and sometimes even a bit forceful.
Shihoko Azuma is a character from the manga and anime "YuruYuri." She is the art teacher at Nanamori Middle School and also the advisor of the art club. She first appears in a special story in Volume 6 of the original manga. While her given name was previously unknown in the manga, it is revealed in episode 3 of season 3 of the TV anime. She has been friends with Nana Nishigaki, who works at the same school, since their high school days, and has persistently asked Nishigaki to model for her art since then, although she has not succeeded yet. She continues to look for a chance to paint Nishigaki someday. Azuma can be quite assertive when it comes to things she likes, but otherwise, she behaves as an entirely ordinary teacher—unlike Nishigaki, she doesn't perform explosive experiments, at least for now. She is also colleagues with Tsubasa Minamino the physical education teacher and Hatsumi Kitamiya the home economics teacher, both of whom, along with Nishigaki, were her classmates in high school.
