Legoshi is the main character of the manga BEASTARS. He is a 17-year-old gray wolf who is a second-year high school student at Cherryton Academy and a member of the drama club's stage crew. Legoshi is big and physically strong, but inside, he is gentle, shy, and deeply conflicted about his predatory instincts. After meeting Haru, a white dwarf rabbit, Legoshi starts a journey of self-discovery, explores his emotions, and often questions the line between love and carnivorous instinct. His life takes many dramatic turns, facing crime, inner struggles, friendship, romance, and problems with society because of his unusual family background.
Legoshi is a gray wolf with a big, strong body.
When the story starts, his height is 185 cm (about 6'1"), and he weighs 71 kg (about 157 lbs).

Legoshi’s mixed heritage (reptile and mammal) is very rare, as most animals prefer to stay within their species lines.
Because of his background, and after his mother’s death, he was separated from Gosha until after he left school.
Legoshi is extremely powerful physically.
Wolves in this world already have strong bodies and combat skills, and Legoshi is one of the largest in his group.
Despite this, he feels uncomfortable with his own strength and prefers not to use it unless necessary.
He is very skilled at working backstage—especially with lights—for the drama club.
After meeting Gouhin, a panda, Legoshi trains to control his carnivorous urges and even shaves his fur for practice, becoming mentally stronger as a result.

He loves seeing his hard work help the actors shine on stage.
Even though Legoshi looks intimidating, he's actually gentle and enjoys quiet, simple activities.
Meeting Haru
One night, Legoshi meets Haru, a tiny white rabbit.
He is instantly fascinated by her.
He feels the urge to get close, but he also fears it's partly his predatory instinct.
After getting lost with Haru and spending time together, he becomes more aware of his emotions.
He realizes he's jealous of Louis, who seems to have Haru’s attention, and decides to confess his feelings but gets turned down.
The Black Market Incident
When Haru is kidnapped by a criminal gang, Legoshi bravely teams up with Gouhin, a panda doctor, to save her.
They rescue Haru after a big fight and end up spending the night together in a hotel, though nothing romantic happens.
Legoshi learns about the different instincts between carnivores and herbivores through this experience.
Hunting the Killer
Rokume, an herbivore, asks Legoshi to find the killer of Tem, a classmate from the drama club.
Legoshi tries to investigate but ends up seeming stranger to the others.
When someone attacks Legoshi at night, he barely escapes and goes to Gouhin for help.
He starts secret training with Gouhin to better control himself and help protect others.
Legoshi hides his true identity by shaving off all his fur and spends time fighting criminals in the city with Gouhin.
Big Fight and Life Changes
Legoshi finds out Riz, a bear, is the one who killed Tem.
He gets angry, but he wants to stay calm for both himself and Haru.
Legoshi fears becoming like Riz—a predator who gives in to harmful instincts.
On New Year's Eve, Legoshi and Riz fight.
During the battle, Louis forces Legoshi to eat his leg so Legoshi can gain enough strength to win.
Because of this, Legoshi is labeled a former meat-eater and faces social restrictions.
He quits school, works at a noodle shop, and lives alone.
Recovery and Self-Acceptance
Legoshi suffers from strong urges to eat meat and has a hard time alone every night.
After meeting other residents and confronting criminals selling bone drugs, he slowly recovers and starts to question if his attraction to herbivores is something wrong or not.
Legoshi realizes his symptoms ease after he faces his feelings honestly.
Reconnecting with Family
After his mother died by suicide, Legoshi had little contact with anyone except Jack.
With Jack’s help, Legoshi is reunited with his grandfather, Gosha.
They talk openly about prejudice and their family history for the first time.
