Ouetsu Nimaiya is one of the most unique characters in Bleach. Known as the "Blade God," he is the creator of all zanpakuto and known for his energetic, rapper-like style. He is a member of the Royal Guard and fights fiercely when needed. His special sword, Sayafushi, can cut through anything, but is so sharp it can't be sheathed. He plays a key role both in the creation of swords and in some major battles, displaying both strength and care for his creations.
Ouetsu Nimaiya has a distinct look, with hair styled like a reggae dancer and always wearing sunglasses.
He usually dresses flashy, matching his fun and lively personality.
He stands 172 cm tall and weighs 62 kg.

Ouetsu Nimaiya is the creator of all zanpakuto, the soul swords used by the Soul Reapers.
He is called the "Blade God" because, since the start of the Soul Society, he made all the basic swords called asauchi that Soul Reapers use as the base for their own zanpakuto.
Ouetsu is the third officer and Western Divine General of the Royal Guard, and his division is called the Phoenix Palace.
He knows where every asauchi is, except for Ichigo Kurosaki’s original sword, which was not made by him.
He keeps his zanpakuto, Sayafushi, in a liquid instead of a sheath because it is so sharp that no sheath can contain it.
Ouetsu is not just good at making swords; he is also really strong in battle.
His special zanpakuto, Sayafushi, is known as a "failure" because its blade is so sharp it cannot be sheathed.
Sayafushi can cut anything cleanly, never getting chipped or dirty, but is too dangerous to use as a normal sword.
His sword is powerful enough to defeat strong enemies in one blow, cutting so smoothly that the opponent may not even bleed until moments later.
In battle, he has shown amazing skills, taking out many powerful enemies from the Schutzstaffel almost instantly and even injuring Askin Nakk Le Vaar.
Ouetsu works closely with the other Royal Guard members, especially during important battles.
He is assisted by the Nimaiya Bodyguard, a group of five women smiths who help him make swords.
He has a special bond with each zanpakuto he creates and treats his sword assistants with care.

Introduction and Phoenix Palace
Ouetsu first appears with the rest of the Royal Guard after the first attack on Soul Society.
Unlike the others, he doesn’t talk to Ichigo Kurosaki and the captains at first, but his style and flashy moves stand out.
The Sword Trial for Ichigo and Renji
When Ichigo Kurosaki and Renji Abarai come to repair their zanpakuto, Ouetsu welcomes them in a strange way, making them fall into a pit.
He reveals that all the beautiful women in his palace are actually his zanpakuto made into human form.
He tests Ichigo and Renji by making them fight many asauchi.
Renji passes, but Ichigo fails and is sent back to the real world.
Ouetsu does this so that Ichigo can find out who he really is and where his zanpakuto’s power comes from.
Once Ichigo returns with new understanding, Ouetsu happily forges a new sword for him.
Battle Against Yhwach’s Elite Guard
When Yhwach and his elite Sternritter attack the Royal Palace, Ouetsu faces them alone.
He defeats Gerard Valkyrie, Pernida Parnkgjas, and Lille Barro instantly and nearly kills Askin Nakk Le Vaar.
But Askin’s special power wounds him badly.
With the help of Tenjiro Kirinji, Ouetsu wins, but Lille comes back to life after Yhwach uses an ability called Auswählen.
Lille fatally wounds Ouetsu, and he falls in battle.
Anime Changes
In the anime, Senjumaru Shutara heals Ouetsu’s wounds, letting him keep fighting Lille Barro.
Ouetsu holds his own and forces Lille to use his final power, but is wounded again.
He then leaves the final battle to Senjumaru and chooses to end his own life along with other Zero Division members to help her fight.
After the Battle
After recovering, in the novel "Bleach: Can't Fear Your Own World," Ouetsu learns that a special item, Ikkomikomitomo, was stolen from his palace.
He becomes very angry and finds out that Tokinada Tsunayashiro, the new head of the Tsunayashiro family, is responsible by checking the wounds of his zanpakuto bodyguards.
