She is also from the same middle school as Maki.
Her voice actress is Ryouko Ono.
Basic data
Blood type: A
Atsuko has hair that is blue in the original manga and dark green in the anime.
She is tall, elegant, and sharp-eyed, with a notably attractive appearance.
She has an even better figure than Haruka, and her height and proportions stand out strongly.
Maki, who is unusually vocal about romance, even remarks that someone like Atsuko does not need tricks or calculated tactics.
Her chest has recently become even larger, and in the anime Maki complains that it is unfair.
At one point, Maki and Kana Minami jokingly call her a "femme fatale" and a "witch" because she cannot even open the lid of a juice can by herself.
Atsuko is kind and soft-spoken.
She is not good at asserting herself, and people often fail to listen even when she is saying something perfectly reasonable.
Her gentleness shows in small but memorable actions.
She once shared one of only two rice balls with a hungry Haruka, and on another occasion gave Chiaki Minami her own cream puff.
She learns quickly despite her reserved nature.
After Chiaki coached her in making sharp retorts, Atsuko was soon able to respond briskly in conversation.
Atsuko is one of the few people who seems to think Hosaka might actually be handsome.
At the same time, she is frequently bewildered by his bizarre behavior.
Her opinion of him is noticeably softer than Maki’s.
In her own words, he would be handsome if he would just stay quiet.
In the story "I’m Home," Atsuko is proud of how neatly she makes rolled omelet.
However, she is shocked when Hosaka’s rolled omelet turns out to taste better than hers.
Chiaki is one of the few people whom Atsuko openly interacts with in a comedic rhythm.
Chiaki once tried to teach her how to make proper retorts.
After that, Atsuko quickly picked up the style.
When Chiaki confused "flower viewing" with "beef short rib," Atsuko immediately corrected her, and when Chiaki curled up like a bud, Atsuko responded with another quick retort.
Chiaki is also one of the few characters she acknowledges positively.
Atsuko is counted among the rare people Chiaki does not dismiss as an idiot.
Atsuko and Maki have been friends since middle school.
That shared history helps explain their casual, teasing dynamic.
There is also a small moment involving Tōma Minami.
When Tōma used Atsuko’s chest as a pillow, he fell asleep with a peaceful expression, and after that Atsuko began to feel more conscious of him.
Atsuko’s rolled omelet is described as beautifully made.
Even so, losing to Hosaka’s cooking leaves a strong impression on her.
Within Minami-ke, there is another character with the same name.
That other Atsuko is a black cat.
