Character Setting

Edit

Pafu is a royal fairy from Hope Kingdom who takes on the appearance of a pink dog-like girl, serving as a maid-in-training. She is friendly, lovable, and curious, often tripping over her own long, fluffy hair but never giving up, and she always adds "pafu" at the end of her sentences.

Pafu resembles a cute, pink puppy with long, fluffy, ear-like hair and heart-shaped highlights on her cheeks and eyes.

She always wears a tiara and her hair is styled in various ways, often with ribbons.

Her usual attire includes a prominent bow with heart-shaped decoration and, after awakening her Dress-Up Mode, she permanently wears a scarf and ribbon around her neck.

In Dress-Up Mode, Pafu dons a magenta maid apron dress, a white maid cap, and pink ribbons, exuding a classic fairy maid vibe.

As a human, Pafu appears as a five-year-old girl with her hair in twin tails, dressed in a pink and white apron dress with magenta pumps.

She is sweet, gentle, and a bit spoiled, often relying on her brother Aroma and loves cuddling with him.

Pafu enjoys fashion and adores trying new hairstyles, getting excited whenever Haruno Haruka and friends style her hair.

She has a leisurely pace and tends to mess things up, usually by stepping on her own hair, yet she remains cheerful and selfless.

Despite her clumsy tendencies, Pafu shows flashes of courage and determination, always wanting to be useful to everyone around her.

Pafu hails from Hope Kingdom, a magical realm, as a royal fairy that serves the royal family.

Before chaos struck her homeland, she was a maid-in-training at the palace, dedicated to supporting royalty.

She arrives in the human world, alongside her brother Aroma, tasked by Prince Kanata to seek out the new Go! Princess Pretty Cure heroines.

Her role in Noble Academy is that of a pet, although she objects to being called a "puppy" and tries to set the record straight, albeit somewhat unsuccessfully.

Initially, Pafu does not possess powers for direct combat, serving mainly as emotional support for the Precure team.

Later, she awakens Dress-Up Mode, empowered by her determination to protect others—especially Akagi Towa—allowing her to change into a stronger form with increased agility and a sharp sense of smell.

Her Dress-Up Mode grants recovery power to others and the ability to instantaneously detect enemy Zetsuborg intrusions.

After all Dress-Up Keys are gathered, Pafu gains the ability to freely transform into this mode and help summon the Princess Palace.

Pafu lovingly refers to Aroma as her "big brother," showering him with affection and often relying on him.

She addresses Prince Kanata and Akagi Towa respectfully as "sama," showing her loyalty as a maid.

With Haruno Haruka, Kaido Minami, and Kirara Amanogawa, she uses casual nicknames, indicating close friendship.

Nanase Yui and Kisaragi Reiko use the affectionate "chan" for Pafu, emphasizing her endearing status among students.

Although she is treated as a pet by most of Noble Academy, she is a treasured companion to both the Pretty Cure team and her brother.

Pafu’s plush toys allow children to replicate her many hairstyles, promoting creativity and fun.

She is often mistaken for different animals—sometimes a raccoon, occasionally a cat—especially when she tries to disguise herself before speaking human language and humorously tries to protest.

She loves hair arranging, with weekly TV eyecatch segments featuring a new hairstyle, inspiring fans and toy owners alike.

Pafu desperately tries to remind everyone she is not a puppy, yet Noble Academy’s students are unconvinced, making her frustrated but keeping her identity safe.

She is the only fairy in her season who can openly exist as a “pet” in front of humans without being disguised as a plush or transformed into a human most of the time.

"Pafu is not a puppy, pafu!"

"Pafu wants to help everyone, pafu!"

"Being by your side is enough, pafu!"

"Don’t give up, princesses! That’s why Pafu never loses, pafu!"

Beginning

Pafu and her brother Aroma are sent from Hope Kingdom by Prince Kanata to find the new Pretty Cure members, leading to many misadventures.

In her first encounter with Haruno Haruka, Pafu is mistaken for a raccoon, instantly establishing her as both humorous and innocent.

After a series of comical mishaps—like tripping on her own hair—she becomes part of Noble Academy’s girls’ dormitory as a pet, along with her brother, Aroma.

School Life and Challenges

Pafu enjoys helping around the dormitory, tries cleaning and serving tea, but her clumsiness frequently leads to laughter and chaos.

She forges close bonds with the Pretty Cure team and inspires the students with her cute antics, persistence, and her attempts at being helpful despite a lack of success.

Encounters with Zetsuborg monsters repeatedly test her courage, most notably when she shields Haruno Haruka and Kisaragi Reiko from danger.

Dress-Up Mode and Growth

When Akagi Towa falls ill, Pafu’s heartfelt wish to help leads her to awaken her Dress-Up Mode, gaining powers to aid the team and heal their exhaustion.

She learns to use her enhanced sense of smell in battle and supports the team emotionally.

Her transformation becomes a symbol of selfless devotion and an important support role for the Pretty Cure team.

Major Incidents

Pafu attracts attention in key battles—like protecting classmates during monster attacks, cheering up the team when they falter, and bravely standing up to villains despite her lack of offensive strength.

Her unwavering optimism and bravery spark hope and determination in the hearts of her friends, even during the darkest times.

Final Episodes

In the climax, Pafu risks herself against Dyspear to rally the defeated Pretty Cure team, reminding them of their dreams and igniting one last stand among all students and allies.

Once peace returns to Hope Kingdom, she resumes her life as a maid-in-training, slightly more competent and able to transform into her human form when needed, symbolizing her growth.

Pafu is voiced by Nao Toyama, who previously played a dog supporting character in a Precure movie.

Her audition was initially for a Pretty Cure role, but she successfully landed Pafu’s part.

Nao Toyama also voices another character, Sayaka Karino, within the same show.

Pafu’s merchandise is popular among children, cementing her status as both an important mascot and a beloved character in the Go! Princess Pretty Cure universe.

Her connections span a wide range of character types within the Pretty Cure series, including similarities and differences with other dog-like fairy mascots.
