Despite her elegant appearance, she has a dangerous habit of trying to solve everything through brute force.

Her cooking skills are notoriously catastrophic, often treated as a running disaster in the story.

Shion is deeply loyal, passionate, and emotionally straightforward.

After her resurrection, she struggles with jealousy and emotional instability for a time, but ultimately directs her feelings toward self-improvement.

Originally, Shion was a retainer of the Great Ogre Tribe and lived as part of that noble warrior race.

After meeting Rimuru Tempest, she becomes his subordinate in volume 2 of the light novels.

Rimuru names her “Shion,” causing her to evolve from an Ogre into a Kijin.

Through this evolution, she gains her purple eyes, her single obsidian-like horn, and her tall, refined model-like body.

When Rimuru evolves into a Demon Lord seed, Shion in turn evolves into a Wicked Oni.

Later, in volume 14, Rimuru shares some of his own soul with her, allowing Shion to awaken further into a War Spirit Oni, a type of War God.

As part of this awakening, she becomes one of the Twelve Celestial Saint-Demon Lords (also known as the Twelve Guardian Lords).

Within this group, she is granted the title of War Lord.

During the attack by the Kingdom of Falmuth, Shion is killed along with many residents of Tempest.

Her death becomes one of the main triggers driving Rimuru to evolve into a Demon Lord seed.

Following Rimuru’s evolution, his ultimate skill—at that time known as the Wise King of Wisdom—resurrects Shion.

She returns as a nearly immortal half-spiritual lifeform, no longer as fragile as a normal physical being.

Shion is made the leader of the Yomigaeri, a special group composed of others who were resurrected in the same way and share similar near-immortal traits.

However, the resurrection consumes demon souls, and this infusion gives Shion a streak of cruelty and extreme violence that does not fully match her original nature.

This demonic influence causes her to become mentally unstable and jealous for a while, especially toward those close to Rimuru.

After being gently but firmly guided by Rimuru, she shifts her mindset from destructive envy toward a desire to surpass her former self.

Shion is Rimuru Tempest’s chief secretary and one of his personal guards.

In practice, her paperwork and organizational skills are inferior to Shuna’s, leading to frequent mishaps in administrative work.

Because of her impulsive nature and aggressive tendencies, Rimuru often considers her a “problem child.”

She shares this status with Diablo, and both of them frequently clash over who deserves to be Rimuru’s top secretary and closest aide.

Even with her flaws, Shion is one of Rimuru’s most trusted and emotionally important subordinates.

She devotes herself entirely to Rimuru’s safety and honor, eagerly volunteering for dangerous missions and battles.

As leader of the Yomigaeri, Shion commands an elite corps of resurrected, nearly unkillable warriors.

This unit plays a strategic role as Tempest’s tough, front-line shock troops.

Shion specializes in close-quarters combat and wields a massive greatsword (more like an oversized katana) named Strongarm.

She uses overwhelming physical strength and deceptively simple but brutally effective techniques.

Her raw magicule (magical energy) capacity surpasses even Benimaru’s, making her one of the strongest among the former Great Ogre companions.

Within that group, she grows to become the second strongest, only just behind the very top.

Shion’s fighting style is explosive and direct: she uses her monstrous strength to turn even basic strikes into devastating blows.

She prefers straightforward power over complex tactics, often relying on sheer force to crush her opponents.

Shion possesses the unique skill Cook (Sabakumono).

This ability allows her to skip intermediate processes and directly produce a “fixed result,” essentially cutting out the steps between cause and effect.

In battle, this can be applied to simplify complex actions into a single decisive outcome, making her techniques both deceptively simple and extremely lethal.

Ironically, despite the skill’s name, it does nothing to fix her dreadful cooking.

By volume 16, Shion is so powerful that Ciel (the evolved form of Rimuru’s skill) concludes that, if she were to gain an ultimate skill too early, she might become strong enough to potentially kill Rimuru himself.

Because of this risk, Ciel deliberately delays granting Shion an ultimate skill, effectively placing a limit on her growth for the time being.

This restraint finally breaks in volume 21 during her battle with Dagruel.

In the midst of this conflict, Shion senses that Rimuru has been hurled into the distant reaches of space-time by Feldway.

The rage and despair she feels at Rimuru’s apparent disappearance push her past her limits.

In that emotional surge, she breaks the seal that Ciel had imposed on her and awakens her own ultimate skill.

Her awakened ultimate skill is Tyrant King (Susanoo).

Tyrant King allows Shion to convert the energy of her enemies directly into her own power, making her stronger the more overwhelming the foe.

With Tyrant King, Shion becomes a terrifying presence on the battlefield, able to turn enemy assaults into fuel.

Combined with her nearly immortal body and monstrous physical strength, this elevates her to truly world-class combat power.
