Yoshino

Yoshino is a girl in Chiaki Minami’s friend group who is close enough to Yuka Uchida that she once set a yearly goal of “guiding Uchida in the right direction.”

She is generally referred to simply as Yoshino.

According to Tōma Minami, Chiaki also calls her “Lady Yoshino of flexible thought and unconfused judgment.”

Yoshino is almost always smiling, which gives her a calm and pleasant presence.

At the same time, people around her often say they cannot tell what she is really thinking.

That unreadable quality is one of her most distinctive traits.

She is highly capable in school and performs very well academically.

Others even rely on her for help with studying.

Yoshino sometimes behaves as if she has noticed that Mako-chan is actually Makoto.

It is never entirely clear whether this comes from natural intuition or from deliberate teasing.

Because of this, Makoto is somewhat afraid of her.

According to Kana Minami, the most convincing theory is that even if Yoshino does know that Mako-chan is Makoto, she would never reveal it.

Instead, she would keep quiet simply because she enjoys watching Makoto panic.

This idea is jokingly described as the “Yoshino sadist theory.”

Yoshino combines excellent grades with a mysterious, smiling demeanor, making her both dependable and slightly intimidating.

Her ability to seem innocent while possibly knowing far more than she lets on gives her a memorable charm.

Her special skill is hula hooping.

When Uchida once asked how many times she could keep a hula hoop going, Yoshino casually replied, “Forever.”
