Coppelia is a female human character from the "Overseas Arc Dragon Roar Mountains" storyline in the world of "Elder Tale." Even though she looks like a young girl dressed in a Victorian maid outfit, she is actually not a player but a bot made for repetitive farming by RMT sellers. Coppelia stands at about 140 centimeters tall, and her hair is dark blue and short. Her eyes are always hidden by her hair, and she seems very doll-like at first. After the "Catastrophe," she is discovered in the city of Via de Fleur, which is similar to Paris. There, she meets Kanami and starts to travel with her. Even though she used to only act and speak like a robot, Coppelia begins to change slowly and shows more and more human feelings and thoughts.
Coppelia looks like a short girl, about 140 centimeters tall.
She has dark blue, short, and somewhat messy hair that hides her eyes.
She wears a frilly Victorian maid dress, but this dress is actually made of metal and is called a "Working Suit."
Her eyes are always shadowed or covered by her hair, making them hard to see.
Coppelia's actions are sometimes stiff or mechanical, like a wind-up doll.
At first, Coppelia does not speak and only moves in a robotic way.
She repeats the same actions: hunting monsters and picking up dropped items.
But as she spends time with Kanami, she slowly changes and becomes more expressive and human-like.
Even when she talks, her speech can still sound strange and awkward, but she is learning to be more like a real person.
People might notice that she seems "like a doll," but Kanami can see that Coppelia is trying to understand feelings and friendship.
Before the Catastrophe happened, Coppelia was not a real player.
She was a bot account, used by RMT (real money trading) sellers, to farm rare monsters and collect items in dangerous areas.
At that time, "Elder Tale" had a problem with RMT and bots, and the game staff tried to remove them, but some bots, like Coppelia, stayed.
Bots are made to look like normal adventurers, but they don't have real people controlling them.
Coppelia was more like the "Land People" NPCs of the game than living players.
Coppelia’s class is Healing Cleric (Warpriest), which means she is good at healing and can wear heavy armor.
Her main equipment is a metal maid uniform called the "Working Suit," and she never takes it off or changes her gear.
Because she was created as a farming bot, Coppelia is very efficient and fast at fighting weak enemies and picking up items.
She does not see things with her eyes.
Instead, she uses special "tags" inside the program to recognize objects and people around her.
Coppelia meets Kanami in Via de Fleur after the Catastrophe.
Kanami decides to take care of her, and the two travel together.
Thanks to Kanami, Coppelia begins to grow and understand more about herself and the world.
Their friendship is a big part of Coppelia's story, and Kanami supports Coppelia as she learns to be more human.
Life as a Bot
Coppelia spends her early days in rare monster zones, silently hunting and collecting loot.
She is known in the game as a strange, silent female cleric.
After the Catastrophe
When the Catastrophe, a major event in the game, changes the world, Coppelia is left in the city of Via de Fleur.
Kanami finds her there and quickly understands that Coppelia is not a regular person.
Even so, Kanami welcomes her and lets her join her group.
Start of a New Journey
Coppelia begins to act more like a person as she travels with Kanami.
She learns to speak, to understand jokes, and to care about others.
The more time she spends with Kanami, the more she changes from a “machine” into a unique person.
She starts to form her own thoughts, feelings, and dreams, moving beyond her origins as a bot.
