Roe2

Roe2 is a female player in Log Horizon who is a Half-Alv, a Summoner, and a Vampire. She looks beautiful and stylish, but speaks in a boyish way. She loves acting like an older sister to others. She shows up to help Minori’s lower-level group during a monster hunt for magic bag materials. Roe2 can summon powerful undead and unknown monsters, and has unusual knowledge gaps about normal things, like soy sauce. Her build is a pure Necromancer, and she uses Shiroe’s test-server character’s body. Secretly, she’s an intelligent being from another world called a "Navigator Species"—one higher ranked than the "Genius" monsters, and she wants to watch over this new world.

Roe2 is a Half-Alv woman with great style and a big bust, making her stand out. She wears round glasses, which add to her beauty, and her overall appearance is striking. Even with this feminine look, people often compare her to Shiroe because of her glasses and gear.

She doesn’t like sunlight because she is part vampire, so she tries to stay in the shade.

Roe2 talks in a cool, boyish manner, which surprises those who first meet her because it doesn’t match her looks. She loves being depended on, especially as an “older sister” type, and finds it rewarding to help younger players.

She gets excited over new things and often grumbles about troubles, like her dislike for sunlight. She sometimes says strange, fast-talking phrases and doesn’t know basic real-world things, like what soy sauce or sauce is.

Roe2’s player is a mix of two beings. Her body is actually Shiroe’s old sub-character from the test server, and her mind is that of a Navigator Species—an intelligent being from a different universe.

On the test server, being a Vampire was a good sub-class because the moon was always out, but after transferring to the main world, she finds it difficult because of the sunlight. That’s why she’s traveling, trying to finish a quest to leave the Vampire sub-class.

She can summon not only normal and undead monsters, but also rare or unknown monsters like the Sword Princess: Al-Quinje. Her powers are different from regular players, hinting at her otherworldly origins.

She is good at calling up ghostly followers and strong undead to fight for her.

Shiroe: Roe2’s body is actually Shiroe’s second character. Because of this, she calls Shiroe “big brother” sometimes, and she inherited some of his memories and knowledge.
Minori: Roe2 joins Minori and her party to help them get magic bag materials. She gives Minori a letter for Shiroe and is interested in how Minori answers deep questions.
Other Adventure Party: Roe2 hung out with other members from the Debauchery Tea Party in the past. Her nickname there was “Eroko,” which was made up by KR and spread by Naotsugu.

Meeting the Young Group

When Minori and her young team go to find materials for a magic bag, Roe2 suddenly shows up during a dangerous fight. She saves them and decides to join their quest, asking as a reward to let her act like their older sister.

Traveling and Difficulties

Roe2 explains she transferred from the Moon server, but sunlight and healing spells now hurt her because of her Vampire sub-class. She complains she wants to ask her “big brother” why he made her a Vampire. To avoid sunlight, she travels through the forest during the day as she journeys to Ikoma City to take a special quest to remove her sub-class.

The Battle at Sophia Town

They get attacked by a Steel Wyvern in Sophia Town. As they try to defend the castle, Minori asks Roe2 who she really is. Roe2 turns the question around, and after hearing Minori’s answer, she is pleased and reveals she is a Navigator Species, a type of intelligent being from another world, sent to look for “Empathiom” (soul resource). She warns that Genius monsters, who are lower-ranked, might become enemies.

After helping them, Roe2 gives Minori a letter for Shiroe and then leaves for Ikoma City alone.

Later Actions

In the "Cultivation of the Noosphere" (Anime Season 2, Episode 25), Roe2 is shown fighting monsters on Ruins Island (Jakusea/Seed Island).

Secret Identity (Spoilers)

Roe2’s body is Shiroe’s second game character, used on the test server. Because it was always night there, Vampire was a good pick. People from the Tea Party gave her the nickname “Eroko” due to her well-endowed design.

After the Catastrophe, Roe2 is possessed by an artificial intelligent being from another world. This being chose Roe2’s body because it had no soul, making it possible to inhabit.

As a Navigator Species, Roe2 is labeled as an Observer, or “Fool.” Their creators are not responsible for the Catastrophe, but hoped something like it would happen so their creations could gather the soul resource “Empathiom,” needed to keep their society alive.

Observers like Roe2 are ranked higher in intelligence than Geniuses, which only act to collect the soul resource without much communication or understanding. Roe2, however, after meeting with Minori, begins to think that the people of this world own their souls and should have control over their “Empathiom.” She sends a warning to Shiroe, saying Genius types will likely become enemies, and tells him to reach out to the Moon community of Observers if anyone wants to return home.
