Character Setting

Edit

Rachel Moore is the main heroine of Case Closed and childhood friend of Jimmy Kudo. She is famous for her kind heart, caring nature, and exceptional talent in karate. Despite being tough in fights, she is gentle, supports her family, and always waits for Jimmy to return. She manages the household after her parents separated, and while being Conan Edogawa's "big sister," she also has her own fears and weaknesses. Over time, Rachel and Jimmy's relationship grows from just childhood friends to official girlfriend and boyfriend.

Rachel is a beautiful high school girl with long black hair.

She is very stylish and usually wears different outfits aside from her school uniform.

Her height is 162 cm.

According to the series, she is more like her mother in looks, and people often comment on how pretty she is.

She has a good figure, and both friends and younger characters notice her beauty.

In swimwear, she started out wearing bold, high-leg swimsuits but later moved to trendy bikinis to match with the times.

She was even invited to become a fashion model or a substitute actress due to her attractive appearance.

Rachel is caring, polite, and responsible.

She looks after her father, does all the housework, and helps her friends whenever they need her.

She is gentle but also has a strong sense of justice and will stand up for others.

When someone is in trouble, she is not afraid to risk herself to help, even if she cries while doing it.

She is patient, mature, and can act as a strong support for the people around her.

Rachel is also quick to scold her father Richard when needed, and her way of speaking becomes more like her mother's over time.

She can get emotional or upset if she thinks Jimmy is hiding something or if another girl is involved, and she can become jealous or worried easily.

While Rachel is more sympathetic to criminals' motives than Jimmy, she will punish those who directly harm her friends.

She sometimes acts without thinking if someone important to her is in danger.

She tries her best to repair her parents' broken relationship and wants to keep her family together.

Rachel does have a playful side and standard knowledge for her age, but gets embarrassed easily about romantic things.

She is also scared of ghosts, monsters, and the unknown, which is one of her weaknesses.

Despite this, she can overcome her fears if it's for her friends or if she knows the threat is just a human.

Rachel lives with her father Richard Moore, a detective, while her mother Eva Kaden lives separately as a lawyer.

She became the main caretaker of the Moore household after her mother left.

She and Jimmy Kudo have been friends since kindergarten.

Rachel is the karate club captain at Teitan High School—she has even won big tournaments.

She is close with her best friend Serena Sebastian, and her friendship with other characters has remained strong throughout the series.

Her birthday is not given, but it is known to be after October 10.

Rachel’s favorite color is red.

Rachel has nearly discovered Conan’s secret several times but was always convinced otherwise by clever tricks.

She now thinks Conan is not an ordinary child and even called him a genius once.

Serena Sebastian

Serena is Rachel's childhood best friend and loyal supporter.

They share a deep friendship, protect each other in danger, and always believe in each other.

Serena cheers for Rachel’s feelings for Jimmy, and the two often tease and support each other.

Vermouth calls Rachel “Angel” and chooses not to harm her because of her pure heart.

Gifts from Jimmy

Over time, Jimmy gives Rachel precious gifts—her phone, a sea slug keychain, red mittens, candy, and a star necklace.

Even though everyone uses smartphones now, Rachel treasures the old phone Jimmy gave her.

  • The creator says Rachel is “like Watson to Holmes (Jimmy),” always by his side.
