This romantic comedy follows Leticia, a duke's daughter who has been subjected to relentless and severe "princess lessons" ever since she was engaged to Prince Clarke. Utterly exhausted and desperate for a normal, peaceful life, she devises a plan to have her royal engagement annulled by any means necessary.

The story is set in a fantasy world reminiscent of historical Europe, centered around kingdoms like the Astar Kingdom and the Delbaran Kingdom.

Society is structured with a clear hierarchy of royalty and nobility, including dukes and barons, where political marriages are commonplace.

Leticia, the fiancée of Prince Clarke, has spent her life enduring a brutal educational regimen to become the perfect royal consort.

Fed up with the constant pressure and dreaming of freedom, she decides her only way out is to have the engagement broken.

Her grand plan involves finding another, more suitable bride for the prince, hoping he'll choose someone else over her.

However, the seemingly cool and perfect Prince Clarke appears to have his own thoughts on the matter, leading to a series of comedic and heart-fluttering misunderstandings.

Leticia

Voiced by: Haruka Shiraishi

The protagonist and a duke's daughter who is completely burned out from her "princess lessons."

She's a clever and determined young woman whose sole focus is orchestrating the end of her engagement to the prince so she can finally relax.

Prince Clarke

Voiced by: Jun Fukuyama, Yū Kobayashi (10 years old)

The handsome and highly capable prince of the Astar Kingdom and Leticia's official fiancé.

While he appears cool and collected on the surface, he seems amused by Leticia's schemes and may be more involved than he lets on.

Nadir

Voiced by: Wataru Hatano, Io Sahara (12 years old)

Prince Clarke's trusted aide and, to Leticia's frustration, her very own older brother.

His position places him in the awkward spot of being caught between his duty to the prince and his sister's desperate escape plans.

Brianna

Voiced by: Yuka Saitou

The daughter of a baron and another candidate for the position of the prince's consort.

Leticia sees her as a potential key to her freedom, hoping the prince will fall for her instead.

Louis

Voiced by: Shun Horie

The third prince of the neighboring Delbaran Kingdom.

His arrival adds a new layer of political and romantic complexity to the situation.

Lyle

Voiced by: Shunichi Toki

Louis's loyal and observant attendant who accompanies him on his visit.

Lily

Voiced by: Miki Sonozaki

Leticia's head attendant, who has been looking after her since she was a child.

She watches over Leticia's antics with a mixture of concern and affection.

Maria

Voiced by: Rie Suegara

A maid who serves Leticia, offering her support through the daily struggles of noble life.

Princess Lessons (Consort Education)

This refers to the extremely rigorous and demanding education that Leticia is forced to undergo to become a worthy consort for the prince.

It covers a wide range of subjects, from politics and history to etiquette and the arts, all taught with relentless strictness, which is the source of all of Leticia's suffering.

There is no information available regarding any awards received by this series.

The series has been met with great commercial success, with its combined novel and manga sales surpassing 3 million copies by November 2024.

Its popularity stems from its lighthearted take on the "villainess" trope, focusing on a relatable protagonist who just wants a break.

The author's stated goal was to create a story where no character is purely evil and everyone has human-like flaws, which has resonated with many readers.
