Mother takes the form of a bewitching adult woman but was originally a child demon whose appearance was altered on Rui’s orders.

Despite her mature looks, her mentality remains that of a young girl, leaving her unable to meet Rui’s demands and making her the lowest-ranked member in the family hierarchy.

Mother usually appears as a beautiful adult woman with an alluring, elegant demeanor.

However, this adult form is artificial, created to fit Rui’s idea of a “mother,” and she occasionally reverts to her original childlike appearance.

Because her mind is still that of a little girl, she struggles to understand and satisfy Rui’s strict expectations.

This mismatch between her appearance and true age makes her nervous, fearful, and emotionally fragile.

She lives in constant terror of Father, who frequently assaults her, and she is also abused by Rui whenever she fails to maintain her adult form or fulfill her role.

As a result, her “mother” status is in name only, and she is emotionally dependent, submissive, and deeply traumatized.

Mother’s main power is a thread-based Blood Demon Art that lets her manipulate humans like puppets.

Using this ability, she can force Demon Slayer Corps members to fight each other, breaking their bodies while she remains safely hidden.

On Mount Natagumo, she uses webs and threads spread through the forest to control a group of Demon Slayers who had entered the mountain ahead of Tanjiro Kamado and Inosuke Hashibira.

She makes them attack one another in brutal, involuntary combat, turning the battlefield into a grotesque puppet show.

Her fighting style relies on distance, concealment, and control, rather than direct close-quarters combat.

Because she is timid and fearful, she prefers not to engage enemies head-on and instead manipulates them from afar.

Mother is the first demon encountered by the Demon Slayer Corps team that enters Mount Natagumo.

She is part of Rui’s fabricated spider “family,” where each demon is forced into a specific familial role: Mother, Father, and siblings.

When a squad of Demon Slayers led by Ozaki enters the mountain, Mother captures and controls them with her threads.

Under her manipulation, they are forced into deadly infighting and mutual slaughter, unable to resist her Blood Demon Art.

Once Tanjiro Kamado and Inosuke Hashibira arrive, Inosuke uses his heightened senses to pinpoint Mother’s hidden location.

After revealing her position, the pair move in to confront her, with Tanjiro ultimately closing the distance and reaching her directly.

Rui forces Mother into the role of “Mother” in his imitation of a human family.

He orders her to change her appearance from that of a small girl to an adult woman so that she matches his desired family structure.

Because her inner self is still a child, she often fails to act the way Rui expects a “mother” to behave.

Whenever she disappoints him or unintentionally shifts back into her original child form, he punishes her harshly.

Within the group, she is also abused by Father, who uses physical violence to keep her obedient.

This constant fear and abuse mean she has no real authority; despite the title of “Mother,” she is actually the weakest and most oppressed member of the family.

Over time, she becomes completely dominated by terror and the desire to avoid punishment.

Her actions as a demon are driven less by cruelty and more by desperation and the fear of Rui’s wrath.

After Inosuke reveals her location, Tanjiro reaches Mother and prepares to decapitate her.

By this point, she is exhausted by fear and control, longing to be freed from Rui and the endless abuse.

Realizing that her defeat is inevitable, Mother makes no attempt to resist Tanjiro’s attack.

Instead, she willingly relaxes and presents her neck to him, silently asking for release rather than continuing the fight.

Moved by her lack of hostility and her quiet acceptance of death, Tanjiro chooses to use Water Breathing Fifth Form: Blessed Rain After the Drought.

This technique allows him to sever her neck gently and painlessly, ending her life with compassion instead of cruelty.
