Astraea is a mysterious life form who arrives on Earth for the first time with a mission: to eliminate Tomoki Sakurai. She is an Angeloid designed for close combat, boasting excellent fighting skills and basic emotion control. However, she lacks any computing power, so she isn’t very smart and even struggles to read kanji. Because of this, she often fails her missions, thinks of herself as not very bright, and eventually starts to see Tomoki as being even less clever than herself. She soon forgets about her duty, and becomes more interested in silly competitions with Tomoki. Afraid of punishment from her master, she avoids returning to Synapse and begins living by the river, where she ends up sharing a home with Eishiro Sugata.
