Runa is a member of the so-called gossip-loving four best friends.

Within that group, she is the obvious dimwit and often becomes the source of comic relief.

She is hasty and prone to acting before thinking.

Her behavior gives her a distinctly foolish image, and she is often regarded as one of the most clueless girls among the ship's entire crew.

Her love of mahjong is a running joke.

She enjoys playing card mahjong in her free time with her friends, but she regularly makes mistakes and commits obvious fouls.

In the original video animation, this trait is especially emphasized.

When the four girls play mahjong together, the others complain that Runa has once again ended up with too few tiles, likely because she forgot to draw one at the start.

Although she seems dumb, Runa is actually excellent at physics.

This hidden ability makes her more capable than her outward behavior suggests.

Her father is a talented shipbuilding engineer.

As a child, she used to copy his design blueprints as doodles.

Because of that background, she became particularly skilled in engine structure and thermodynamics.

However, she is poor at putting her understanding into words, so other people often fail to realize how much she knows.

She understands things in her head but cannot explain them smoothly.

In that sense, she resembles Shima Tateishi, who also struggles to verbalize what she knows.

Runa communicates especially well with Maron Yanagiwara.

The two can apparently understand each other just through the way they swing a wrench, which leads Runa to frequently assist Maron with repair work.

Runa was the only one in her friend group who entered by waiting-list acceptance rather than passing outright.

When she did not see her number in the main list of successful applicants, she completely lost her composure.

In despair, she shouted that she would quit being human and live as a fish from that day onward.

She then jumped into the winter sea and was later rescued by Satoko Katsuta.

This episode perfectly captures both her recklessness and her absurdly dramatic personality.

It also reinforces her reputation as a lovable fool.

In episode 6, she bathes with Thea Kreutzer.

After seeing Thea's chest, Runa appears to feel insecure and looks away.

She is also asked by Megumi Uda to help build a naan oven powered by a boiler.

Runa works on it together with Sora Hirota, but the project remains unfinished.

Runa's favorite color is yellow.

When combined with the favorite colors of the other three girls in her friend group, their colors can represent every color depending on the combination used.
