Akeboshi Himari

Akeboshi Himari is a girl with long white hair and striking elf-like ears, which are rare among Millennium students. She uses a wheelchair because of her physical condition, and her appearance gives off a delicate, almost ethereal vibe. She often wears a white cardigan and keeps a blanket over her lap, especially since she gets cold easily and prefers her environment warm, at least 30 degrees.

Himari is clever, bold, and loves to show off her intelligence. She frequently calls herself things like the "supreme genius pure sickly beautiful girl" and changes her self-introductions every time, never repeating the same phrase. She is very proud but not arrogant toward others. Despite her high self-esteem, she's a bit sensitive if someone doesn't recognize her or ignores her grand titles.

She has a playful side, enjoying pranks and often hacking into things just for fun or to satisfy her curiosity. She doesn't hesitate to borrow public property for her own use through hacking, much to the annoyance of her club advisor Kagami Chihiro and Sensei, both of whom have lectured her more than once—something rare at Millennium.

Underneath her confidence, Himari is kind at heart and often goes out of her way to help her friends, though her help can sometimes be a bit much. She loves occult subjects, frequently uses fortune-telling and even relies on lucky charms. She is also a big fan of enka music.

Akeboshi Himari is a student at Millennium Science School. She is one of only three students in the school's history to earn the "Omniscience" degree due to her hacking skills. She was originally the leader of Veritas, a non-official hacker group. Later, she was asked by the student council president, Tsukatsuki Rio, to become the head of the special Phenomenon Investigation Club, a request she accepted, though not very willingly.

She enjoys the work at the Investigation Club because it keeps her intellectually stimulated, even if she complains about it sometimes.

Himari is a top-level hacker with unmatched talent in hacking, data analysis, strategy planning, and inventing or designing devices. She can do everything from crafting electronic gadgets to outsmarting security systems. Her main weapon is called "Takane-no-Hana," believed to be modeled after real-world small revolvers like the S&W Model 340PD or M&P BODYGUARD 38. Despite her reputation as an "armchair" genius, it's rare to actually see her using weapons directly.

Himari is respected by other geniuses like Yuuka Hayase, who acknowledges Himari's talent. While she works together with Tsukatsuki Rio, their philosophies often clash—Himari values humor and emotion, while Rio is all about logic, leading to a tense relationship. Still, Himari will respect Rio's skills and cooperate when needed.

She gets along well with others who share her interests, such as Utaha from the engineering club, with whom she enjoys singing enka songs.

Himari is often scolded for her hacking antics by club advisor Kagami Chihiro and Sensei, who are two of the only authority figures to lecture her as much as they have lectured Wakamo Kosaka.

Akeboshi Himari was first known as the leader of Veritas, Millennium's unapproved hacker group. She later took up the role of head of the Phenomenon Investigation Club at the request of student council president Tsukatsuki Rio. She enjoys solving unique cases for the club, using her talents to their fullest.

Clashing with Tsukatsuki Rio

Himari works closely with Rio for certain investigations, including highly sensitive ones involving students and dangerous incidents. When their conclusions differ—Himari finding someone safe, Rio suspecting danger—the tension leads to arguments. At one point, Rio’s bodyguard Asuma Toki locks Himari up to remove her from interfering, and she is later rescued amid chaos by Izumimoto Eimi.

Role in Key Story Events

During the later part of the story, including "Amaneku Kiseki no Shihatsuten Arc," Himari helps bring Toki into the team to counter a supernatural threat. She acts as a major strategic asset and leads actions both on and off the field.

In the "Ark Occupation Battle of Ator-Hashis," Himari boards the Utnapishtim mothership with Sensei and others, playing a supporting role. She confronts Rio about her treatment of Toki, expressing her disapproval.

During the "Pleunapates Showdown," Himari coordinates an electronic warfare operation with Veritas members on the ground. Despite their skill, they struggle against opponents wielding powerful artifacts.

Health and Daily Life

There are some hints about her physical condition: while she usually uses a wheelchair and cannot move her legs much, in the Memorial Lobby, there are signs that she can move a little—suggesting her problem may be that walking is exhausting, not impossible.

She likes to keep her surroundings warm and cozy due to her sensitivity to cold, always keeping a cardigan and a blanket handy.
