Echidna

At first, Echidna is shown wearing a black robe.

Her real appearance is hidden for a while because someone else is pretending to be her in the same outfit.

Apart from this disguise, not much detail about her looks is given in the story.

Echidna is described as very natural and kind.

She is gentle to everyone around her and cares about both spirits and humans.

Even though she is the most powerful Spirit, she is never proud or mean.

Echidna is one of the nine Spirits born from the will of the World Tree itself.

She is the eldest sister and is known to be the strongest among the Spirits.

Earlier in history, she lost almost all her power—about ninety percent—after she drove out the Demon Nation.

Because of this, she becomes much weaker, easily getting tired after using her strongest powers.

Echidna’s main power is called "God Eye of Time."

This is one of the Three Great Eyes, and it can control time, like stopping it or changing how it flows.

The other two are "Demonic Eye of Nothingness" (used by Krusch) and "Pledge Magic Eye" (used by Theresia).

Another special move is "Spirit Awakening."

This lets Echidna join her heart completely with her spirit and become like a god.

With help from Mictlan, she could beat a young demon god in one blow.

However, in her past, her skill was still not perfect and she could not destroy a demon core completely.

Echidna has had two Protectors, called Guardians, to help her.

The first Guardian was "Sora," but only the name is known—nothing more is told about her look or skills.

Later, "Mictlan" became her new Guardian.

By the time Ein goes back to the past, Mictlan is already fighting for Echidna.

Mictlan is very brave, trusts her instincts, and is kind, even when fighting demons.

People call her a "hero" because she could defeat very strong monsters with only one attack.

But when Echidna is killed by humans and falls into darkness, Mictlan becomes the "Demon King," killing humans without mercy.

The fake Echidna in a black robe is actually Anri, the granddaughter of Sora, pretending to be her.

Anri has the strange ability to use the same powers as Echidna.

The Origin of Echidna

Echidna was born as one of nine Spirits, children of the World Tree’s will.

She is the oldest and the strongest.

Echidna first appears as a mysterious person in a black robe, looking like an ally to the demons.

Losing Power for Sacrifice

In the story’s past, Echidna banishes the Demon Nation.

But to do this, she gives up a huge part of her strength—losing ninety percent of her power.

After this, she can hardly keep up with using her special eye, turning pale if she tries it even once.

The Mystery of the Black Robe

At the start of the story, “Echidna” in a black robe is actually a fake.

This fake is Anri, Sora’s granddaughter, in disguise.

Anri acts as if she is on the demons’ side, showing off Echidna’s powers, but hiding her real identity.

Echidna’s True Nature

In the past, the real Echidna is shown as a gentle Spirit who is kind to all.

Even though there are many secrets around her, her peaceful and warm heart makes her special.

Heroes, Betrayal, and Tragedy

Sora is Echidna’s first Guardian, but details are unknown.

Mictlan becomes the next Guardian.

She is strong and brave, fighting against demons.

However, when Echidna is killed by humans, Mictlan’s heart turns cold, and she becomes the Demon King, attacking people for revenge.

The World Tree is a rare tree that creates endless magic, and only nine exist.

Each Spirit core from the World Tree has its own personality and helps protect the tree in dangerous dungeons.
