Tetsu Ishida is a second-year student at Fudomine Middle School, known for his incredible power and trademark white bandana. He is an aggressive baseliner whose signature move, the "Original Hadokyu," is powerful enough to send an opponent's racket flying.
Tetsu has a tall and muscular build, standing at an impressive 188cm.
He is never seen without his trademark pure white bandana or towel wrapped around his head.
Tetsu is a diligent and serious individual, deeply committed to his training.
His motto is "Perseverance prevails," reflecting his patient and hardworking nature.
He is also quite traditional, with hobbies like training under waterfalls and visiting temples.
Tetsu is the younger brother of Gin Ishida, a powerhouse player from Shitenhoji Middle School.
His family consists of his parents, his older brother Gin, and a younger sister.
His father works as a carpenter.
Play Style
Tetsu is a right-handed aggressive baseliner.
He overwhelms opponents from the back of the court with his sheer power.
Special Moves
Hadokyu
This is a devastatingly powerful flat shot, taught to him by his older brother, Gin.
While his version is less powerful than Gin's, it can still knock the racket out of an opponent's hand.
The move places a massive strain on his arm, limiting the number of times he can use it per match.
Initially, his captain Kippei Tachibana instructed him to use it only once, but he has since developed variations.
During his match against his brother, he unleashed a backhand "No-Step Hadokyu" and a "Jump Hadokyu" while using his "Beast's Aura."
Beast's Aura
After intense training with Akira Kamio, Tetsu learned to unlock his "Beast's Aura."
This state enhances his power, allowing him to execute various forms of the Hadokyu.
Tetsu is primarily seen playing doubles with his teammate Masaya Sakurai.
In the National Tournament, he formed a special doubles pair with Akira Kamio.
He has a fierce rivalry with Seigaku's Takashi Kawamura, another power player who copied his Hadokyu.
He looks up to his older brother, Gin Ishida, from whom he learned his signature move.
District Preliminaries
In the finals against Seigaku, Tetsu played in a D2 match against the Takashi Kawamura and Shusuke Fuji pair.
Pressured by Fuji's Tsubame Gaeshi, Tetsu used his Hadokyu to regain momentum.
However, Kawamura managed to return the powerful shot, severely injuring his own arm in the process.
This led to Kawamura's withdrawal, and Fudomine won the match by default.
Kanto Tournament
Teaming up with his usual partner, Masaya Sakurai, Tetsu faced tough competition.
They were defeated in the second round by the Minami and Higashikata pair.
Later, they lost in the semifinals to the Marui and Yagyu pair.
National Tournament
Tetsu and Sakurai secured a victory in their match against Makinofuji.
In the quarterfinals, he paired up with Akira Kamio for a D2 match against his own brother, Gin Ishida, and Kenya Oshitari.
Tetsu and Kamio pushed themselves to their limits, unlocking the "Beast's Aura" and unleashing new forms of the Hadokyu.
Despite their incredible effort, which left them covered in injuries, they ultimately lost the match by forfeit.
