Escape and Aogiri Tree

During the Aogiri Tree’s assault on Cochlea, Naki seizes the chance to escape custody. Afterward, he joins the Aogiri Tree organization, working to find Akihiro Kanou while seeking revenge on Ken Kaneki, who was responsible for Oomori’s death.

Still, Naki’s childish honesty and emotional vulnerability persist—he often cries and misspeaks, symbolizing his innocence despite the violence of his world.

Tokyo Ghoul:re and Growth

In "Tokyo Ghoul:re," Naki returns during the Human Auction arc, now revered as "Big Brother" by the new members of the Oomori group, including Shousei Idera and Hooguro. He develops a close, almost sibling-like bond with Miza Kusakari and continues to display courage and recklessness in battle.

As the story progresses, especially in the Rushima arc, he grieves for fallen comrades and fights courageously, voicing his wish to leave a legacy worthy of Oomori's memory.

After Aogiri and Joining Black Goat

Following the fall of Aogiri Tree, Naki becomes a member of Black Goat, Kaneki's group. Initially hostile toward Kaneki due to Oomori's death, Naki is defeated in a confrontation but later pledges loyalty to Kaneki, recognizing traces of Oomori's spirit in him.

With Kaneki’s guidance, Naki’s vocabulary and language skills improve. During major battles, he teams up with Miza and his subordinates, risking everything to protect noncombatants. He loses his left arm and is thought to have died but returns dramatically during the fight against the organization V.

Peace and Family Life

Naki survives the series’ many battles and, by the end of the conflict, even cooperates with former investigators. Miza harbors feelings for Naki, though he remains oblivious until after the war. The two marry and build a peaceful life together, raising nine children.
