Sui is a special slime individual and the second contracted familiar of Tsuyoshi Mukouda in the series Campfire Cooking in Another World with my Absurd Skill, and is also the main protagonist of the spin-off manga Sui’s Great Adventure.
Despite being a slime with an unknown gender, Sui plays a central, mascot-like role in the story and is both adorable support character and surprisingly powerful fighter.
Sui is a unique slime whose usual size is roughly that of a bowling ball and whose body color is light blue.
At their first appearance, Sui is only three days old, categorized as a baby slime, and later evolves into a Big Slime and then a Huge Slime by volume 5.
Sui generally rides around inside Tsuyoshi Mukouda’s bag when not in battle or playing.
Because slimes cannot produce spoken words, Sui communicates with Mukouda and the party through telepathy.
Sui refers to themself in the first person as “Sui,” calls Mukouda “master,” and calls Fel “Uncle Fel,” emphasizing a childlike, affectionate personality.
Among the party members, Sui is the youngest and behaves very much like a small child in both taste preferences and mannerisms.
Sui is extremely straightforward, innocent, and clingy in a sweet way, which leads Mukouda to absolutely dote on them.
Although Sui can sometimes be a bit oblivious to the mood or subtle social cues, this comes across as charming rather than annoying.
Sui is surprisingly fearless, even compared to older and stronger beings.
At one point, Sui manages to step in and calm down a nearly explosive confrontation between Fel and the ancient dragon Grandpa Gon.
Sui is also very impressionable and gradually becomes influenced by Fel’s love of combat.
Over time, Sui starts to show signs of becoming a mild battle maniac, getting excited about fighting strong enemies.
Sui is first discovered already inside Fel’s barrier, although in truth Sui had appeared before the barrier was erected.
When Mukouda asks Fel about it, Fel explains that slimes basically eat anything, which gives Mukouda an idea.
Mukouda begins feeding Sui garbage and leftovers from the products he buys via his online supermarket skill, essentially using Sui as an otherworldly trash disposal unit.
At some point during this process, without anyone noticing exactly when, a familiar contract between Mukouda and Sui is automatically formed.
This casual beginning contrasts sharply with how vital Sui becomes to the party later on.
What starts as “just a slime eating trash” quickly grows into a powerful and versatile companion with divine blessings.
As a slime, Sui has a soft, amorphous body made of light blue gelatinous material.
They can extend two tentacles like arms to grab food, manipulate objects, or drink from containers.
When drinking from bottles or similar containers, Sui often tilts the bottle and partially inserts it into their body to absorb the contents.
In a memorable scene, Sui imitates Mukouda’s way of drinking fruit milk after a bath, “placing” a tentacle on their “waist” in a cool pose while drinking.
Sui usually keeps compact, about the size of a bowling ball, when traveling or resting.
However, thanks to evolutionary abilities, Sui can dramatically change size when needed in battle or work.
For Sui, Mukouda is “master,” caretaker, and parent figure all in one.
Sui’s dependence and affection, combined with their cuteness, make Mukouda extremely protective and indulgent.
Sui calls Fel “Uncle Fel,” suggesting a mixture of respect and casual familiarity.
Despite Fel’s intimidating power and personality, Sui is not afraid of him and is even influenced by his fondness for combat.
Within the party, Sui is the energetic youngest child, often brightening the mood and providing comic relief.
Their presence balances out the older and more serious members, making the group feel more like a family.
Sui is not an ordinary slime but a special individual with extraordinary adaptability.
Even Fel, who is long-lived and experienced, admits it is the first time he has seen a slime with abilities like Sui’s.
Sui possesses the blessing of Rusalka, the water goddess, which grants them advanced water magic abilities.
They also possess the blessing of the forge god Hephaestos, which gives them skills related to blacksmithing and crafting.
These twin blessings allow Sui to play active roles in both combat and daily life support.
Sui’s growth in skills and magic is unusually fast and versatile for a slime, underscoring their unique status.
Core Slime Abilities
Sui retains and enhances standard slime traits while adding special evolutions.
Key inherent abilities include:
Growth and Evolution: Initially a baby slime, Sui evolves into a Big Slime and later a Huge Slime by volume 5.
Size Change: As part of their species abilities, Sui can grow and shrink, forming the basis for more advanced skills.
Offensive Skills
Sui’s signature combat technique is the skill Acid Bullet.
At first, this ability resembles a water gun, firing small acidic projectiles that can dissolve what they hit.
As Sui grows stronger, Acid Bullet becomes more like a focused laser beam of corrosive energy.
This increased power allows Sui to melt armor, damage tough monster hides, and contribute significantly in battle.
Thanks to their growing love of combat and influence from Fel, Sui uses Acid Bullet with surprising enthusiasm.
Combined with their mobility and size-changing, Sui becomes a formidable battlefield presence despite their cute appearance.
Size Manipulation and Multiplication
Sui gains the skill Super Giantification, allowing them to expand to a total length of around 10 meters.
In this state, Sui can overwhelm enemies with sheer mass, swallow large objects, or serve as a moving platform.
Another key species-based skill is Multiplication, which lets Sui create multiple clones or split bodies.
These split bodies are used to collect drop items, clean up battlefields, or perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Through Multiplication, Sui can also handle tasks like draining blood from defeated monsters efficiently.
This makes Sui invaluable for processing materials after hunts without requiring the entire party’s effort.
Water Magic (Blessing of Rusalka)
With the blessing of the water goddess Rusalka, Sui becomes an adept user of water magic.
Sui can freely control water for various purposes, from combat support to daily conveniences.
They can provide water on demand, which is extremely useful for cooking, drinking, and bathing.
This constant water supply supports Mukouda’s cooking activities and ensures the party’s hygiene.
Sui’s water magic can also be used defensively or tactically, manipulating water flows and volume as needed.
The combination of water magic and slime physiology makes Sui extremely flexible in handling environmental tasks.
Healing Potion Generation
During a journey, Sui discovers a large colony of Healing Mushrooms and eats them in great quantities.
As a result, Sui acquires the skill Healing Potion Generation.
With this ability, Sui can internally process materials and generate recovery potions.
These potions can be used to heal injuries, making Sui a moving, self-contained alchemy lab.
This not only reduces the party’s reliance on external healers or purchased potions but also provides immediate support in emergencies.
Sui’s capacity for healing further solidifies their role as a vital support member of the group.
Blacksmithing (Blessing of Hephaestos)
Through the blessing of the forge god Hephaestos, Sui gains the Blacksmithing skill.
Despite being a slime, Sui can generate and manipulate tools and equipment as if working at an invisible forge.
Sui can craft or repair cooking utensils that Mukouda uses to prepare food.
They can also create or maintain weapons and gear for the party.
This blacksmithing capability makes Sui useful far beyond combat, reducing the need to visit blacksmiths in towns.
Sui essentially serves as an in-party craftsman, focused especially on supporting Mukouda’s beloved cooking.
Beyond fighting, Sui is incredibly handy in everyday situations.
With water magic, Sui handles water supply, cleaning, and helping prepare baths.
Using Multiplication, Sui can organize loot, collect dropped materials, and handle blood draining from hunted monsters.
This frees the others to focus on fighting, strategizing, or simply relaxing.
Through Healing Potion Generation, Sui keeps the party stocked with recovery items.
With Blacksmithing, Sui maintains crucial tools and weapons, particularly those used in cooking.
Sui also acts as a mobile garbage disposal, eating waste and leftovers that would otherwise be difficult to discard.
This ability not only cleans up camp but incidentally led to the original familiar contract with Mukouda.
At first, Sui’s combat contributions are modest, using weaker Acid Bullets like a water gun.
However, as Sui evolves into a Big Slime and later a Huge Slime, their offensive power increases drastically.
Super Giantification allows Sui to change the battlefield just by growing massive.
Multiplication lets Sui attack from multiple angles or handle many minor enemies at once.
Influenced by Fel, Sui gradually enjoys testing their powers against strong opponents.
Even so, Sui’s cheerful, childlike personality keeps battles feeling energetic rather than grim.
Over time, Sui develops into a balanced fighter-support hybrid.
They can damage enemies, control the environment, process loot, provide healing, and craft tools all at once.
Sui’s combination of divine blessings, special slime traits, and childlike charm makes them one of the most distinctive characters in Campfire Cooking in Another World with my Absurd Skill.
What begins as a small, three-day-old baby slime quietly hiding in a barrier becomes a powerhouse familiar who shapes both the party’s lifestyle and combat capabilities.
Sui’s role spans mascot, garbage disposal, craftsman, healer, water mage, and frontline attacker.
This versatility, paired with an innocent disposition and growing love of battle, ensures that Sui remains both a fan favorite and a core member of Mukouda’s extraordinary party.
