Veron

Veron is a portly man in his early old age. He looks grand and important, fitting his role as the head of the guild.

Veron is proud and tough. He does not like change and feels threatened by Farma de Médicis and the Parallel World Pharmacy. He can be easily angered, especially if he feels disrespected or ignored. His stubbornness sometimes gets him into trouble, and he has a deep sense of loyalty to the guild. In the anime, Veron especially dislikes noble pharmacists and court pharmacists because they failed to save his own child.

Veron is the long-time head of the Imperial Pharmacists' Guild. He leads all the commoner pharmacists (third-class pharmacists) in the city. He feels protective of the guild and wants to keep its shops successful and respected.

Veron is married, though his relationship with his wife has moments of conflict, especially when she secretly buys beauty products from the Parallel World Pharmacy. He cares about his family, but his pride often comes first. He has a deep rivalry with Farma de Médicis and constantly tries to stop the Parallel World Pharmacy from becoming popular.

Against Parallel World Pharmacy

Veron dislikes Farma de Médicis and the Parallel World Pharmacy because he sees them as a threat to his guild. He tells all guild shops to avoid dealing with the Parallel World Pharmacy.

Trouble at Home

One day, Veron finds out his wife has been secretly buying cosmetics from the Parallel World Pharmacy. He becomes furious and destroys the products, showing just how much he dislikes this rival shop.

Sabotage Attempt

Veron goes so far as to try sabotaging Farma de Médicis's business. He arranges for an unregistered cart full of contaminated soil to be dumped onto the Parallel World Pharmacy to ruin its business. However, Cédric Luneau uses his divine powers to clean all the dirt, and with help from Empress Elisabeth II, Jean Alain Gabin, and loyal customers, the pharmacy reopens just two days later.

Downfall and Punishment

Because of his attack, Veron actually makes Empress Elisabeth II very angry. As a result, he and the guild are banned from selling any medicine containing lead, which is already forbidden. The guild’s sales drop badly, and their business suffers.

The Plague and His Fate

When the Black Death spreads through the empire, Veron catches the disease. Even though Farma de Médicis provides medicine, he refuses to take it and tries to make his own cure. Sadly, he cannot find a way to save himself and dies because of his stubbornness. His own family is saved because they secretly took the medicine made by Farma de Médicis.

The anime adds that Veron’s hatred of nobles and court pharmacists is very personal—he blames them for not saving his own child.
