Character Setting

Edit

Abyss Razor is a male student of Easton Magic Academy’s Leonne Dorm and the Second Fang of the elite group Magia Lupus, known for his androgynous beauty, terrifying “Evil Eye,” and high-speed close-combat magic.

Name: Abyss Razor

Gender: Male

Affiliation: Easton Magic Academy, Leonne Dorm

Group: Magia Lupus (Seven Fangs), rank: Second Fang

Age: 18

Birthday: July 5

Height: 175 cm

Weight: 64.5 kg

First Major Appearance: Around Episode 20 (story)

Abyss has long hair tied back in a ponytail, giving him a neutral, androgynous look that is often described as beautiful.

He normally hides his face under a white mask and a hood, both to conceal his identity and his cursed eye.

His most striking feature is his left eye, which is blood-red and looks constantly bloodshot, earning it the name “Evil Eye.”

Under each of his eyes, he has a sharply bent, angular marking that looks like a curse mark or tattoo.

When eating, such as at breakfast, he removes his mask, but otherwise he is almost always masked in public.

His usual aura is quiet, controlled, and slightly ominous, matching his feared reputation.

Abyss is deeply loyal to Abel Walker, the leader of Magia Lupus, and always addresses him respectfully as “Abel-sama” in the original context, essentially meaning “Lord Abel.”

He sees Abel as the first person who ever needed him, and this gratitude hardened into absolute devotion.

He has very little experience interacting with others, especially people outside Magia Lupus.

He is extremely weak to romantic or casual interaction, particularly when dealing with girls, whom he awkwardly calls “maidens” or “girls” in a stiff, outdated way.

Because of his traumatic childhood, Abyss believes he should never have been born and carries intense self-loathing.

He despises how people worship magic as a divine gift while rejecting him for possessing an eye that can deny that very power.

At first, he resents Mash Burnedead, who cannot use magic yet lives peacefully with a loving family and hopes for a normal life.

However, after fighting Mash and losing, he slowly opens up when Mash offers him friendship without judgment.

From birth, Abyss carried the “Evil Eye” in his left eye, a power that can temporarily nullify another person’s magic.

In a world where magic is revered as a divine blessing, this eye is seen as a blasphemous, demonic ability.

When his power manifested, even his own parents became terrified of him.

To hide his existence, they locked him away in the basement of their home, treating him as a shameful secret.

Over time, the emotional strain and fear broke his parents down, and they eventually attempted to kill him.

This experience convinced Abyss that his very existence was a mistake and that he had no place in the world.

At some point, Abel Walker discovered Abyss and told him he was “necessary” for Abel’s goals.

Even if he suspected Abel might be using him, Abyss clung to that single acknowledgement of his worth and joined Magia Lupus as the Second Fang.

Abyss repeatedly appears as an antagonist member of Magia Lupus, taking part in the group’s operations inside Easton Magic Academy.

He is involved in incidents such as stealing class coins from Rayne Ames’s younger brother, Finn Ames, and other students.

During the Magia Lupus hideout arc, Abyss confronts Mash Burnedead, who has come to rescue kidnapped students including Lemon Irvine.

Abyss quickly realizes that his Evil Eye has no effect on Mash because Mash cannot use magic at all.

Even without relying on the Evil Eye, Abyss uses his vector-based acceleration magic to overwhelm Mash with speed and cutting attacks.

He inflicts sword wounds while dashing around at high velocity, making himself a difficult opponent in close combat.

Mash eventually counters by destroying the floor to limit Abyss’s movement options.

In the narrowed space and restricted trajectories, Mash seizes an opening and unleashes a barrage of physical blows, ultimately defeating Abyss.

After the battle, Abyss reveals his tragic past and confesses his envy: unlike him, Mash was loved by his family despite his “defect.”

Mash admits he cannot truly understand Abyss’s pain but still says he wants to be his friend, promising that his attitude toward Abyss will not change no matter what others say.

At first, Abyss rejects the offer as pointless.

But Mash’s sincerity and the way he was raised by Regro Burnedead move Abyss, and he finally accepts, smiling faintly and promising to eat cream puffs with Mash someday.

Later, when Abel Walker is attacked by Cell War, Abyss throws himself in front of Abel to protect him, taking a severe injury.

Mash rescues Abyss afterward, reinforcing the bond that has begun to grow between them.

Abyss is the type of person who can get through breakfast with just a single cup of black coffee.

This sparse, ascetic routine matches his restrained and almost self-erasing lifestyle.

Because he has worn his mask from a young age to hide his eye, he is more comfortable concealed than exposed.

The mask is not just a tool to hide the Evil Eye but also a psychological shield that separates him from a hostile world.

His lack of social experience leads to clumsy, outdated, or overly formal word choices, especially when referring to women.

This creates a contrast between his fearsome combat ability and his surprisingly innocent, flustered reactions in everyday conversation.

Abyss combines high-speed movement magic with swordsmanship, making him one of the rare characters who excel in close-quarters combat.

His innate power, the Evil Eye, makes him especially dangerous to magic users, even though it is useless against Mash.

Vector Manipulation Magic

Abyss can manipulate the “flow of force” in vector-like directions and apply it to movement.

He uses this to accelerate himself in specific directions, controlling his trajectory with great precision.

He channels this power mainly through a sword that doubles as his wand.

By synchronizing his acceleration with his sword swings, he turns himself into a high-speed slashing weapon.

Accel Rays

“Accel Rays” is his core spell.

It generates arrow-like vectors in a chosen direction, allowing him to accelerate his own body to incredible speeds.

The spell itself has no direct offensive power; it only boosts movement.

Abyss pairs it with his sword to dash past opponents and slice them while they cannot track his movements.

Accel Rays Sphere

“Accel Rays Sphere” is an advanced form that deploys multiple arrows in a swirling pattern around the opponent.

Abyss uses these vectors to chain rapid dashes, circling his target at high speed.

During this technique, he slashes repeatedly, striking from multiple directions before the enemy can react.

The result is a barrage of high-speed sword attacks that can quickly overwhelm slower opponents.

Accel Rays Seconds: Force Field

“Accel Rays Seconds: Force Field” is a second-stage spell that creates a special field around Abyss and his opponent.

Within this field, the opponent’s speed is decreased while Abyss’s speed is increased.

Downward-facing arrows appear on the slowed target, while upward arrows appear on Abyss.

From Abyss’s perspective, the opponent moves in slow motion, although their physical strength and attack power remain unchanged.

This technique is perfect for controlling the pace of battle, allowing Abyss to dodge, reposition, and counterattack with ease.

However, if the opponent can endure the speed disadvantage or cleverly restrict the battlefield, the advantage can be reduced, as Mash demonstrates.

Evil Eye

The Evil Eye is the power within Abyss’s left eye that can temporarily seal another person’s magic.

When activated, it prevents magic users from casting spells, making them effectively powerless if they rely solely on magic.

In a world that venerates magic as a gift from God, the Evil Eye is viewed as a heretical, demonic power that denies that divine blessing.

Because of this, Abyss’s eye is feared, hated, and called “the Devil’s Eye,” and its bearer is treated like a walking taboo.

This ability is completely ineffective against Mash Burnedead, who cannot use magic in the first place.

Abyss is the first student at Easton Magic Academy to realize that Mash is entirely incapable of using magic, deducing it from the Evil Eye’s lack of effect.
