Enel is a tall, muscular man who usually appears shirtless.

He does not have the exaggerated V-shaped torso that many other characters have, and his build except for his height is quite normal.

One special feature is four large drums shaped like thunder gods’ drums attached to his back instead of wings, which are present on most Skypieans.

He has long earlobes, thick eyebrows, lines on his nose, and a unique face.

He wears a white cloth cap, and underneath there is blond permed hair.

Enel is extremely arrogant and sees himself as an all-powerful god.

He has no hesitation in destroying people who oppose him.

Usually, he refers to himself as "I" or sometimes as "We" to emphasize his status as a god.

His laugh, "Yahaha," is very distinctive.

While he is prideful, Enel is not careless.

Enel did not care about ruling Skypiea itself.

His real goal was reaching "Endless Vearth," a holy land from Birka’s legends, and building a "God’s Country" there.

He only needed the gold in Skypiea to finish his flying ark Maxim.

He always planned to destroy Skypiea and throw all sky people to the sea after using what he needed.

He viewed Skypiea as unnatural, believing humans should not live in the sky.

He never planned to invade the Blue Sea, since "Endless Vearth" is not on the ground but even higher.

Reign as God of Skypiea

Enel ruled Skypiea with fear for six years.

He built his flying ship Maxim with forced labor.

He planned to destroy Skypiea completely with a massive thunder attack "Thunder Welcome" and head to "Endless Vearth" with chosen followers.

He called this his "Return to Heaven."

He set up a deadly "Survival Game" in the Upper Yard to pick his final followers.

Battle with Luffy D. Monkey

He discovered that the ruins were called Birka—the same name as his home island—and that the people of Skypiea likely descended from the ancient people of the moon.

Wall paintings suggested huge secrets about the world’s past and the origin of ancient weapons.
