Malcolm Eden was a boxer who underwent heavy modifications to be able to keep fighting.
Malcolm is a middle-aged man with a moustache. His both arms are prosthetic and he has a prosthetic helm on his head with optical lens like right eye.
His personality is not well known. He's a silent, tough fighter.
In the anime, Malcom is seen as a ruthless, if not amoral fighter who often uses illegal moves without the referee noticing. He also shows absolutely no mercy towards his opponents, as all of his matches since being demoted to Grade III have all ended in his opponents dying. He also uses illegal moves, showing a willingness to use techniques regardless if they are allowed or not. That said, he does possess some level of honor, evident by his asking of Levius to defeat him after he realized he had reached his peak and couldn't go any further.
As a professional cybernetic boxer, Malcolm is quite skilled, being a high-ranker in his prime. In time he used more body modifications in order to keep fighting.
In the Netflix adaptation, Malcolm created and uses a special technique called the “Sidewinder,” a reference to the snake of the same name known for skirting across desert sand sideways, which by sliding his forward foot outwards while throwing a punch, would cause the trajectory of his punch to change drastically mid-swing, allowing him to punch around blocks, he later teaches Levius this technique, prior to his fight against A.J. Langdon. It is likely that only Malcolm and Levius know how to perform the Sidewinder.
When Malcolm started fighting in the Mechanical Martial Arts, he was a regular high-ranker in the East Conference. But as time went and he was past his prime, he started to get more body modifications in order to keep fighting.
One day, he faced Levius Cromwell on the ring. After the first round, he knew that he was going to die soon, as his cooling system couldn't keep up. In the second round he went more aggressively, starting to push Levius, but then Levius pierced his chest with him right arm. Malcolm pushed him away, but then Levius teared his left arm. After another hit, Levius took down Malcolm and started punching him in rage. The referee and other people came to stop Levius, but Malcolm had already died.
It was later revealed by Levius that Malcolm asked Levius to kill him, as he knew he reached his peak and didn't want to become more pathetic. He then explained the code the fighters have, that they would rather choose a honorable death, instead of pathetic life, Levius accepted and Malcolm died with a smile. In the Netflix adaptation Malcolm doesn’t ask Levius to kill him, nor does he die, later he mentors Levius on fighting before his match against A.J. Langdon.
