Monophanie

Monophanie's appearance is similar to that of her father, Monokuma, but the part that is black on Monokuma consists of pink and vertical magenta stripes on Monophanie for her theme color is pink. Likewise, her eye is white, contrasting Monokuma's. Unlike most Monokumas, her whole left eye occasionally glows white light instead of having a small red glow. She also has bright pink cheeks.

She wears a brown bikini top with a sakura flower printed on both sides. She wears a light pink flower on her left ear and has a yellow pacifier. She also usually carries a big sunflower with her.

Monophanie is a child-like robot with a feminine personality and the only sister of all the Monokubs. Her personality appears much more gentle than her brothers, and her kindness is mentioned to be "a unique character trait", which seems to make her somewhat well-liked by her father and siblings, though it can also annoy the other bears who are more openly "evil". She loves flowers, but she isn't good with gore and cruelness, which is why she is very often seen vomiting, with the vomit even turning different colors depending on the situation. Commonly, white or tan puke is for looking at anything gory. According to Monotaro, her green stinky puke is an omen of bad luck and disaster, and anyone who sees her blue sparkly puke will have good luck.

In general, Monophanie is considered "the cute one", with a tendency to do cute things like trying to solve the killing game via rock-paper-scissors, or suddenly falling asleep, and liking flowers. Furthermore, she is mentioned to dislike nasty things like gore and bugs. She also appears to be one of the more sensible and intelligent Monokubs, being often shocked and confused by her brothers' crude and confusing remarks. When the siblings begin their usual fighting, she often plays the mediator and seems to dislike arguing, but in the end, she always ends up joining in the fight. While often seeming very gentle and sensitive, she also has a tough side, like when she threatens to defeat all of her four brothers all by herself with her Exisal. She also hits Monotaro multiple times in the head with a frying pan in an attempt to fix his memory. She has referred to herself as a "strong, sensual woman" and says that she shouldn't be underestimated because she's a girl.

Despite her kind demeanor, she can speak in a mean and vulgar manner just like her father and siblings and has a ruthless side. She tends to say things with somewhat mixed messages, beginning her sentence with kindness and then ending it with cruel indications. She may express worry towards others but ultimately seems quite cruel like her other kind. Notably, she is very much willing to destroy K1-B0 in a violent manner, as she thinks it is not really gory since he is a machine (despite the fact that she is also a one). Being a Monokuma, she indeed seems to be evil and messed up even though sometimes appearing nice. Like all the Kubs, she imitates her father by calling the students "you bastards".

She is shown to act somewhat like a fangirl towards her father and even appears to feel some attraction towards him, as she is the only one who enjoys her father licking her and even licks him back every time. She also agrees to have a romantic relationship with Monotaro after he begins to have severe memory issues, only reminding him of their family relation once and ultimately not really seeming to care. Due to his memory issues, Monotaro is seen acting abusively towards Monophanie at times, making her sad but also feel bad for him due to his condition. At one point, when she assumes Monotaro is seeing other women, she claims sadly that she doesn't mind as long as he is happy. She is very saddened when Monotaro begins to help the students and rejects her, and ultimately decides to protect someone important (implied to be their baby).

However, Monophanie is shown to be very abusive as well, as she severely beats up Monotaro with a frying pan in order to have him return to their side. When Monotaro finally returned back to normal, she mocked the students as he was no longer an ally to them, and accused them of taking advantage of his condition (even though she seems to do the same). Monophanie and Monotaro were later seen excited about having multiple cubs, but this turned out to be just an example of Monokuma's sick sense of humor which destroyed them both during the execution.

After she is revived, Monokuma threatens to blow her up along with her siblings if they don't make good arguments. Monophanie is mostly confused during the last trial, and gives her brothers praise whenever they participate well. Monophanie and Monotaro eventually end up as the last ones left and are absolutely terrified, pointlessly trying to calm Monokuma down so that he dosen't press the button by "accident", but in the end they both get blown up either way.

Controlling the Exisals

Monophanie, along with the other Monokubs, are the only ones who can control the Exisals.

Monophanie can control the Exisals on her command to manipulate the students into doing something since the Exisals carry dangerous weapons such as a saw and a gun. She also uses the Exisals to punish any students who break the school's rules.

In Chapter 3, Monophanie and the other remaining siblings even forced Monokuma to surrender and give them the power to control the Academy, as Monokuma couldn't stop them because they were using the deadly Exisals.

Creation

Monophanie, along with her four other siblings were created by Team Danganronpa, a group of people who created the famous reality show called Danganronpa, a series which tells the story about Killing Games. Monophanie and the Monokubs' roles are to aid Monokuma in hosting the Killing Game.

It is unknown when they were created and in which Killing Game they started to appear. Their most notable appearance is the last Killing Game entry, the 53rd season of Danganronpa.

Prior to the Killing School Semester

After the students woke up and left their classrooms, the Monokubs began to lure them into the gym by chasing them down with the Exisals. When everybody went into place, the Monokubs burst in with their mechs, but after realizing that they're going off-script and shouldn't be in those for their first appearance, they all jump out in a flashy introduction sequence to appear face-to-face with the students. Although they've all got many questions to ask the bears, Monophanie and the others ignore the students to tend to other matters until they realize they've completely screwed up, and haven't even given them their outfits or their "first memory" yet, which was Monophanie's job... Though she pretends to fall asleep to avoid repercussion. They quickly correct their mistake and erase the students' memories of the event.

It was revealed that this event happened right before the 53rd Killing Game occurred when the students' memories were about to be fabricated by Team Danganronpa.

Killing School Semester

After the students are put back into their respective places, the Monokubs reappear to make their proper on-script introduction, where they tell the students to explore the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and meet their classmates, as they're all going to do an activity later. They occasionally pop up to explain certain functions of the school, such as the Ultimate Labs and the End Wall they're confined in.

When all of the students have finished introducing themselves, Monophanie and her siblings make an announcement to gather at the gym, as they've finally finished their preparations. Once everyone's arrived, they bust in to give their Exisals a proper introduction, and to announce the true nature of the Academy... However Monodam suddenly steals Monokid's line, and soon a fight breaks out between the Kubs. Monophanie's attempts to break it off only leading into her joining the frey as well. But just as they're about to duke it out, they hear a hauntingly familiar voice, the voice of their father, the one and only Monokuma.

Upon making his GRAND entrance to the scene, he beats his children silly for dragging out the Prologue, and explains the rules of the students' new lives in the Killing School Semester, with the Kubs coming in charge to explain the Class Trials, though Monophanie can't handle all the potential gore that might follow, and suggests they change it into a rock paper scissors tournament instead. After taunting Kaede's flimsy attempts at protest, Monokuma and his Kubs triumphantly laugh at the dumbfounded students.

Monokuma and his Kubs pop up to taunt the students' failure in trying to cross the Death Road of Despair, and encourage them to try and try again until they grasp the reality of their situation. Eventually, they stay in there for so long, Monophanie and her siblings give their first ever nighttime announcement.

When Kaito Momota commits violence against Monokuma, the Monokubs pop up to squish him with the Exisalsfor breaking a school rule, as Monophanie won't let him lay a hand on her Daddy, she wants her daddy to smile everyday! ...Only for them to accidentally kill Monokuma instead, they tearfully gather his remains to eat in a big stew, and run off. But by the next day, Monokuma reappears, where he also reveals that while he has spares, the Monokubs don't, and then he licks them all as part of their "emotional reunion."

He then announced his "Time Limit" motive, in which if a murder dosen't occur in 2 days, all of the students will be ripped to shreds by countless Monokumas. With Monophanie and her siblings giving reminders of said Time Limit in their subsequent announcements.

Monophanie plays a key role in the investigation for Rantaro Amami's murder. Where she grabbed the cameras found at the crime scene to print and develop the photos that were taken during the incident. Later on during the investigation, Monophanie announces for the students to head to basement and get their developed photos. Monophanie gave them to Kaede and Shuichi while role-playing as a couple in a fancy restaurant with Monosuke. She also briefly pops up to confirm to the students that she did not omit any pictures, she swears by her almighty Daddy she didn't!

After Kaede Akamatsu was voted as the blackened, the Monokubs pull out the Exisals to prevent the students from interfering with her execution, though this was stopped by Kaede. Monophanie and her siblings assist Monokuma in her execution by pulling on the ropes that hang her to death.

At the end of Kaede's execution, just as the spiked piano lid is about to slam down and crush her corpse, Monodam suddenly murders Monokid by pushing him right below the lid, crushing his body and leaving only his decapitated head left. Monotaro is shocked and Monophanie pukes in horror at this, but Monosuke dosen't seem to mind all that much, as they could all use a little more tension in their lives, Monokuma is briefly shocked at this, but quickly moves on, after all he's still got four MORE cubs! Monophanie is a little shaken up by how little meaning their existance has.

At the beginning of Chapter 2, Monophanie and her siblings appear to give the students prizes for surviving the Class Trial, though they're still very uneasy being around the recently revealed Kub Killer Monodam. Though as the Chapter goes on, Monophanie and Monotaro start to warm up to him and his sudden supportive tendencies, even letting him take the lead for most of their announcements and giving out praise of their own! Though Monosuke keeps trying to antagonize him by reminding the others of his crimes... To little effect as none of them were particularly fond of Monokid to begin with. Monokuma then tasks his children to deliver Kubs Pads holding Motive Videos to each of the students while they sleep, though they screw up and hand the videos to the wrong students.

In the middle of the 2nd Class Trial, Monosuke does a catastrophic slip-up by accidentally revealing vital information to the students, earning his father's silent rage and Monophanie and Monotaro's relentless teasing, but Monodam's quick to jump to his defense, sucessfully convincing his siblings to quit their mocking.

At the end of Kirumi Tojo's execution, after Monosuke did the fatal mistake of swearing off from getting along with "Dummy Bears," Monodam once again puts his kin's blood on his hands by kicking him right below the spot Kirumi's body is plummeting towards, crushing him to bits on impact. Monophanie once again pukes her guts out at this, with Monotaro joining in this time! But Monodam explains that Monosuke was no different than Monokid, in that he was getting in the way of them getting along, they don't need him. He then unveils his sinister plan of taking over the Academy and vows that "THE-AGE-OF-THE-MONOKUBS-BEGINS-NOW."

At the beginning of Chapter 3, Monophanie and her few remaining siblings appear to once again hand out prizes to the students for surviving the Class Trial, though they're strangely unresponsive to Monokuma's commands... Which is when Monodam decides to start his revolution, with Monophanie and Monotaro backing him up by reading his scripted lines on how Monokuma's just a has-been that might as well just retire and work on his tan. Since the Kubs have Exisals on their side, Monokuma is forced to comply and is reduced to balding statue, leaving the Academy to be ruled by his rebellious children. They completely turn the Killing Game on it's head by turning it into a bizarre bonding activity, in which the students must all use friendship and teamwork to prevail and prevent potential murders... With vicious beatings and threats of violent punishments if they don't. Monodam tends to decribe said punishments with such graphic detail that he makes Monophanie puke several times throughout.

The new headmaster Monodam orders the students to gather at the gym, where the Kubs unveil a motive that'll inspire a fear like never before, as according to Monodam, a motive that would cast them into the depths of terror would give the students no choice but to unite. Monophanie and Monotaro take over in presenting the "Transfer Student" Motive, where supposedly, they'll be able to ressurect a previously killed student by performing a ritual with the help of the Necronomicon. When Monotaro brings up the possibility of them just killing the student again as soon as they're ressurected, Monodam scolds him, but Monophanie suggests they forgive him, as that is what friends do, y'know? However Monodam argues that there's more to friendship than being nice, and that they also punish each other when they do something wrong, which is why he'll force her to punish Monotaro, something that she becomes very willing to do once he reveals that he shit talks behind her back.

In that day's nighttime announcement, since Monotaro got knocked out cold from his punishment, Monophanie announces that they'll be taking a break from announcing, and that they'll leave it to their comatose father Monokuma instead, where he'll stay at for the subsequent announcements.

Monophanie and her siblings suddenly spring up in the cafeteria with the students to give them a Flashback Light as a bid to bring them even closer together, however, before they can flash it, Angie Yonaga snatches the device from Monodam and destroys it. With their plan ruined and Monodam leaving the scene, Monophanie and Monotaro awkwardly run off as well.

When Angie is found dead, Monophanie reacts to the gore by puking all over the place as usual, however not only is she doing it much more frequently, but it's green this time, which Monotaro states is an omen of bad luck and disaster. And surprisingly, her puke predictions turn out to be correct, as Tenko Chabashira is killed during the investigation not long afterwards, setting her puke back to normal.

Once Monodam reveals that he dosen't know what to do once a second body is found, Monophanie and Monotaro scold him for his terrible job as headmaster and come crawling back for their father's aid. The balding Monokuma pops up again and remains unresponsive, so the two siblings try using the power of love to give him his groove back! After enough crying and pleading, another Monokuma shows up, revealing that the bald one they've been with throughout the chapter was just a part-timer he got to cover for him while he was taking an unsolicited vacation, and thanks his Kubs for running the academy in his absence by giving them all loving reunion licks (which Monophanie especially enjoys).

Upon Monokuma swiftly regaining his headmaster position and immediately running things much smoother than Monodam, by the time the 3rd Class Trial begins, Monophanie and Monotaro get cozy in their safer postions by actively insulting their sibling and excluding him from their bits, ignoring him whenever he speaks.

Monophanie and Monotaro take part in most of Korekiyo Shinguji's execution, spinning him intensely and fueling the flames that boil him alive. Due to their intense bullying, Monodam commits suicide by rushing full steam ahead into the blazing fire as both siblings stare in shock. Monophanie pukes in horror one more time and mourns his death, but also absolutely refuses to admit that she had a part in it, while Monotaro almost immediately forgets who he was, which spooks her a little bit. She considers reviving one of her dead siblings with the unused Necronomicon, but after getting asked on who she would revive, she actually can't think of anyone as they were all pretty terrible.

Chapter 4 - Live and Let the Languid World Live

At the beginning of Chapter 4, Monophanie and her one remaining sibling pop up to hand out prizes to the students for surviving the Class Trial, though with Monotaro's memory problems becoming increasingly worse to the point he can barely even know who he is, Monophanie has to do all the work in giving the prizes and the "Card Key" Motive.

In the Chapter's first nighttime announcement, Monotaro forgets she's his sister and begins flirting with her, and despite her clearly knowing they're family, disturbingly enough puts very little resistance to his advances and the two begin a relationship, something which even the students are weirded out by. The subsequent announcents don't even detail the time of day anymore, and instead becomes a bizarre soap opera detailing their rocky romance, with heart-pounding twists and turns of domestic violence and split-ups, and heartwarming reunion at the very end... Himiko was invested in it at least.

When Monokuma pops up with his children to reveal that he was the one to create the Neo World Program in the Computer Room, Monotaro winds up misremembering K1-B0 as his father, in turn assuming Miu to be his "Mommy" and completely forgetting his relationship with Monophanie.

When Miu Iruma is found dead, Monotaro dedicates himself to helping out the students in avenging his "Mommy," Monophanie tries convincing him to stop, as apparently it's against the rules for them to help the students in the investigations (despite her doing just that in Chapter 1) and that he's forgotten about someone important he needs to protect, but he just rudely tells her off as she tearfully run off, as she still has someone she must protect... Though by the time they arrive on the Class Trial grounds she's whacked him on the head with a frying pan enough times to jog his memory.

In the middle of the 4th Class Trial, Monophanie reveals to Monotaro that this mysterious special someone... Is their baby, and that she's pregnant, with what she thinks is sextuplets, Monotaro's overjoyed by the news, but Monokuma is strangely silent to his children's incestuous relationship. After Gonta Gokuhara is voted as Miu's killer, just before his execution, Monophanie apparently starts to go into labour.

Both siblings unintentionally take part in Gonta's execution, as Monophanie writhes in pain on the ground while Monotaro begins to panic at her increasingly bloated stomach, wich bulges out further and further, until their "baby"... AKA a giant robotic bug violently bursts through her stomach and slices Monotaro to pieces. Monokuma explains that he did this cuz they were acting all buddy-buddy and not giving him any attention, and briefly laments that his Kubs have all been killed, but then laughs it off by saying he's never gonna get the hang of the whole "parenting" thing anyways. K1-B0 was left traumatized by their ghoulish demises.

At the beginning of Chapter 5, Monokuma hosts his children's funerals absolutely heartbroken, though his eulogy quickly devolves into blaming them for their own deaths and to start to wonder on why they even existed. Monophanie and her siblings are briefly mentioned as Monokuma offers the hangar their Exisals are placed in, as he's got no use for them now that all the Monokubs are dead.

At the end of the 5th Class Trial, just before Kaito Momota's execution, Monokuma reveals he rebulit his Monokubs and that they're active once again to pilot the Exisals and assist their father in the Mutual Killing Game. Though they still have their factory settings, so they don't remember anything that happened in their past lives and are quite confused at the point of the story they've just dropped into.

At the beginning of Chapter 6, Monokuma and the Monokubs in their Exisals arrive and threaten to destroy K1-B0 for damaging the school in an attempt to end the Killing Game, which Monophanie dosen't protest to as she's fine with ripping a robot to shreds, considering it less gory. K1-B0 reassures everyone to find the truth while he engages the Monokubs in combat, fighting them the entire time the others investigate he real truth about the Killing Game. After Shuichi gathers enough information, he proposes to Monokuma, the Kubs and K1-B0 to solve this confict with a Class Trial, Monokuma agrees to these terms and orders his children to remove K1-B0's weapons so that he can participate.

Right before the Final Class Trial, Monokuma tells his Kubs that they'll have pivotal roles in the Trial, and that he'll make sure they do their very best... By threathening them with a Monokub Detonator that'll blow them up if they don't comply. Naturally, they try to serve a more proactive role in the Trial, but since they don't know jack squat, most of their arguments comprise of things that have already been said or just plain nonsense that's easily disproven as they get increasingly more desperate with their dwindling numbers. After Monosuke's blown up, the last two siblings completely give up on trying to make any arguments and just focus on calming Monokuma down so he dosen't "accidentally" push the button. However, when Monokuma decides do a commercial break right at the climax of the Trial, she strictly refuses to do so, leading to Monotaro and her getting unceremoniously blown up right before the mastermind reveals herself.
