Niko

Unicorn Form

Niko is a Diamond Unicorn with a horn on her forehead and beautiful wings on her back.

Her fur is mostly violet with light blue highlights, and she has long purple hair.

When in her full, true form after the battle, she is a huge unicorn with no wings, but can still fly.

Human Form

As a human, Niko has a golden horn on her forehead.

Her long hair is violet with light blue parts, and she wears a rainbow ribbon.

She also wears a headband with frills in the image colors of the four Pretty Cure—pink, purple, blue, and green.

Her eyes have a beautiful gradient of blue, green, and yellow, with a red pupil.

She wears a pale violet and pink long dress with a light blue cape.

She always looks smart, calm, and very dignified.

Niko is cheerful, playful, and often calls herself "Niko."

She is friendly and easy to approach, but she also has a serious and commanding side.

When things get tense, she uses "watakushi" and speaks in respectful language.

She can become very strict, getting angry at Mey Mey's mistakes.

But, she is gentle and cares about all life.

She is tough on her friends and calls them by name without honorifics.

Niko is the highest-ranking animal and founder of Niko Garden.

She cared for all the animals and protected the garden from harm.

Long ago, she fought off an attack by Gao.

To save the Animals who turned into "Garugaru," she used her special power to seal them into eggs, then lost all her power and disappeared.

Niko can change animals into eggs to seal them.

She can also turn into her human form by collecting "Niko Niko Power," the energy created when people and animals smile together.

In her human form, she can make powerful shields and block enemy attacks.

But using too much power makes her return to her normal state.

She can also sense Gao's location, but if her powers get out of control, strange things can happen, like accidentally turning Iroha Inukai and Mayu Nekoyashiki into animals.

Niko is close to Mey Mey, who respects her greatly.

She cares about her friends, like the four Pretty Cure, Satoru, and others, but talks to them with a bit of toughness by calling them by their names.

She once had a rivalry with Zakuro, who teased her for being "small," which led to rumors about her true form.

The Disappearance of Niko

At the start of the story, Niko is missing.

Mey Mey asks Komugi Inukai and her friends to help search for her.

The Past Battle and Her Sacrifice

Niko tells her story—after Gao attacked the garden and turned animals into "Garugaru," she used her power to seal them into eggs.

But this drained all her strength, and she vanished.

The Egg Returns

After all the Kirarin Animals are gathered, a mysterious egg with the Diamond Unicorn's horn appears.

Mey Mey tries to keep it safe, but it suddenly moves to Iroha Inukai's room.

Later, the egg cracks open, bringing Niko back to life.

Fighting Back Against Gao

Niko sees the Pretty Cure team lose to Gao Gaoon.

She regains her power from the "Mirror Stone" (the Niko Diamond), ready to fight Gao.

However, seeing the Pretty Cure keep fighting bravely and hearing Mey Mey's passionate words touch her heart.

With support from all the Animals and Niko Animals, she decides to give the Pretty Cure the power of the Diamond Ribbon Castle, joining the battle together.

Staying in Animal Town

Afterward, Niko chooses to stay in Animal Town for a while.

She gets permission from Iroha Inukai's parents and lives with the Inukai family.

Returning Home

When the fight with Gao is over, Niko returns with Mey Mey to Niko Garden, wanting to protect the true relationship between the human world and her own.

Human Form Adventures

Niko, in her human form, first secretly watches over Komugi Inukai and Kurihara.

Later, she reveals her true identity during a fight with Gao.

She sometimes has trouble controlling her powers, like when she transforms Iroha Inukai and Mayu Nekoyashiki into animals by accident.

She even plays the role of the Forest Goddess at the Wangan No. 2 Middle School play, standing on stage for everyone to see, because she had to replace Yuki Nekoyashiki, who left to defeat Gao Gaoon.

The True Unicorn Form

After the final battle with Gao, Niko finally shows her real form as a giant Diamond Unicorn.

With beautiful purple fur, blue highlights, and long hair, she flies gracefully back to Niko Garden.

• She can be very strict when someone does something wrong—but she also loves everyone deeply.
