Isagi is a teenager of slightly above average height and slim build, developing a stronger, more defined-looking physique. He has short, dark blue hair that leaves a V-shaped fringe between his deep blue eyes, along with a plant shaped ahoge at the top of his head.

While attending Ichinan High School, he wore an unbuttoned blazer over a white undershirt and striped tie. Both the Ichinan High jersey and gym uniform are light-colored with black stripes.

At Blue Lock, Isagi wears the standard-issued body suit (black with blue stripes) and tracksuit. During the First Selection, he wore Team Z's blue #11 jersey and Team Z's gray-capped cleats. During Second Selection, he wore Team White's #15 jersey and later switched to red. He then later switched to Team A's black #15 jersey during the Blue Lock Eleven tryouts.

Isagi dons an official blue-colored Blue Lock player uniform with the #11, that looks very similar to the ones seen in the first cover spread minus the Japan flag during the Japan U-20 match.

As a regular for Team Germany, Isagi wears the red and black with gold stripes Bastard München uniform as #11.

Yoichi Isagi is not an especially cheerful person, but he is very social.

He is proactive and not afraid to ask questions to teammates or rivals if it means getting stronger.

At first, he lacked confidence because he didn't know his own strengths, but over time, he becomes proud and sure of himself.

His strong egoism makes him very hungry for victory—he wants to win by scoring the goal himself.

Isagi feels pleasure in winning and sometimes even looks down on those he defeats.

He can be harsh to teammates who lose their fighting spirit, but he usually apologizes afterward.

Isagi has great respect for even the most selfish rivals, but he does not get along at all with Michael Kaiser, his teammate during the Neo Egoist League.

Since childhood, Yoichi Isagi has had very sensitive senses.

He can notice tiny things or small changes that normal people can’t see.

He loved soccer since he saw a J-League match at age four and spent all his spare time playing.

At eight, he saw Noel Noa on TV, was inspired by his play and words, and worked even harder at soccer.

In elementary and middle school, he was the strongest striker in his local area (Saitama Prefecture).

He went to the prestigious Ichinan High School but played on a team that followed "One for all, all for one," which valued teamwork over individuality.

Isagi became a regular player in his first year.

He began hiding his own ego, focusing on the team, and his unique striker talent was overlooked.

Jinpachi Ego saw potential in him—a rare "ego" that could change Japanese soccer—and brought him to BLUE LOCK.

At first, Isagi didn't have a clear weapon but discovered his powerful spatial awareness during the first selection.

He uses this ability to sense where goals can happen and position himself perfectly.

Later, he combines this with direct shots (one-touch shooting) to score.

He learns to shoot with his left foot but it's not as precise as his right.

As he trains, he gets better at positioning, impact technique, and moving off the ball to lose defenders’ sight.

His greatest gift is his unmatched adaptability, learning and evolving during games at shocking speed.

He calls the state where he acts before thinking as “trance.”

Later, inspired by Michael Kaiser, he develops “Meta Vision”—a super-high level of field awareness and future prediction, by constantly using peripheral vision and high soccer IQ.

This ability, however, uses a lot of energy and makes him very tired.

Rensuke Kunigami: Good teammate, helps each other learn.

Meguru Bachira: Important friend from the beginning, lots of chemistry.

Hyōma Chigiri: Mutual respect, help guide each other.

Michael Kaiser: Strong rivalry, they clash a lot.

Noel Noa: Isagi’s role model and mentor.

Rin Itoshi: Rival, competing for the top spot.

Isagi’s main soccer inspiration is Filippo Inzaghi.

Media calls him “The Child of BLUE LOCK.”

Overseas media see him as the “center of BLUE LOCK.”

His greatest mental strength is willingness to break old self for growth.

He prefers to win by scoring himself, not just helping others.

"He holds my destiny… I am a striker."

"I want to win with my own goal!!!"

"You move for my goal!"

Early Life

Isagi was a sensitive child who often cried because he sensed things before others.

He devoted himself to soccer after a J-League match at age four and, inspired by Noel Noa at eight, became a local star striker.

In high school at Ichinan, his team valued collective play. Isagi hid his ego and focused on the team, even though he felt out of place.

He lost a crucial match because he passed instead of shooting, leading to deep regret.

BLUE LOCK Entry Test

At BLUE LOCK’s first test, a giant tag game, Isagi had a chance to eliminate the weakest player, Gurimu Igarashi, but chose to target the strongest, Ryōsuke Kira, showing his hunger for change and catching Jinpachi Ego’s eye.

First Selection

In Team X’s first match, Isagi is unsure and gets crushed by Shōei Barō.

During the match against Team Y, he discovers his spatial awareness and scores the winning goal.

He motivates teammates like Hyōma Chigiri and becomes key in Team Z.

Against Team V, he first experiences the “formula of success” by combining his awareness and direct shot, which lets him score a winning goal and awaken his striker’s sense.

Second Selection

He passes the 1st stage ranked 15th, and teams up with Meguru Bachira and Seishirō Nagi. They lose to Rin Itoshi’s team and Bachira is taken.

Isagi and Nagi battle Shōei Barō’s team. Isagi learns from Asahi Naruhaya how to move without the ball and adapts quickly, winning Barō as a teammate.

He then defeats teams led by familiar faces, using “adaptation”—changing himself when he can’t change others.

He becomes the main playmaker and striker, controlling the field.

Third Selection

Isagi joins Rin Itoshi’s team, struggling at first as Tabito Karasu marks him.

Working with Nijirō Nanase, he uses his strengths and later learns from Yō Hiori to act first, then think.

He develops “trance” play and scores the winning goal against top opponents like Ryūsei Shidō.

In the U-20 Japan match, he supports Rin and scores the decisive goal in injury time, winning the match for BLUE LOCK.

Neo Egoist League (New Hero Battle)

During a break, Isagi sees how much he has outgrown his old high school teammates and is eager to return to BLUE LOCK.

For the next challenge, he has to pick a country to join in the new league—he chooses Germany because his idol, Noel Noa, leads their training.

Competing for a spot in Bastard München, he fights to climb the ranks while learning from Noa and dealing with Michael Kaiser’s rivalry.

In the matches, he uses “Meta Vision,” combining his skills to play at a world-class level.

He scores with left-foot direct shots and invents a new double-volley technique (Two-Gun Volley) during the France match by learning from Seishirō Nagi.

He gets massive bids from teams, tying for the top spot with Rin Itoshi.

League Rivalries and Final Battles

As his abilities grow, Isagi analyzes players by their types of ego, adjusting his own attacks and learning new tricks.

He faces new awakened versions of Michael Kaiser and Rin Itoshi and must keep evolving, often surprised but always adapting.

Not just his soccer skills, but his brain and analysis move him forward.

He continues doing whatever it takes to win as a striker—and to prove himself as the best player of them all.
