Noise is the mastermind who operates behind the scenes in the series, manipulating Minor Land from the shadows. Known as the “Great Darkness” or the “Ultimate Evil,” he is an immortal being born from the sorrow of the universe itself. Though acting as a cold, ruthless tyrant who uses his subordinates without hesitation, Noise is secretly tormented by his own origins. He dislikes beautiful voices and music, seeking instead a silent world devoid of all sound, including himself. Throughout the story, Noise initiates invasions, controls others through manipulation, and seeks to remake the universe in his vision. Despite his cruel acts, his story ends with a poignant encounter that hints at possible redemption.
Noise has multiple forms:
- Incomplete Form: Initially appears as a bird-like creature with green and brown plumage, sharp talons, and thin wings. He is mute, emitting only eerie cries, and this form is known as "Pi-chan" by Ako Shirabe.
- Complete Form: Transforms into a massive, combined figure of a black bird and a dragon. His power and size greatly increase, giving him a terrifying presence.
- Final Form: After absorbing the Trio the Minor, he becomes a humanoid bird with calm demeanor and impressive battle capabilities. In this form, he is only slightly taller than the Suite PreCure members, yet overwhelmingly powerful.
Noise is extremely cold, ruthless, and uncaring, treating his followers as expendable tools. However, he is sensitive about his own origins and reacts with anger when his inner self is referenced. He despises the beautiful sounds he considers ugly compared to himself and is deeply pessimistic about his existence as a being born from sorrow. Ultimately, his greatest desire is for silence, hoping to erase all sound — himself included.
Noise is the "Crystallization of Sorrow," an immortal being emerging from the sorrow of all creatures in the universe. He invaded Major Land, fought against Otokichi Shirabe and Crescendo Tone, and sealed Crescendo Tone in the Forest of Evil Echoes. After being sealed in a stone slab by Otokichi’s intervention, he escaped in slab form and later manipulated Mephisto to establish Minor Land.
While confined, he continued to act through surrogates and ordered Falsetto’s group to steal Major Land’s sounds. He also sent the Golem to the Forest of Evil Echoes for his purposes.
- Manipulation: He can control others, brainwashing them or manipulating their emotions.
- Reflection: Capable of deflecting combination attacks from Suite PreCure.
- Absorption: In his complete and final forms, Noise absorbs unhappy energy and other characters, increasing his own power, regenerating, and evolving.
- Destruction: He can petrify people with powerful soundwaves and emit deadly projectiles and beams from his arms and special weaponry.
- Immortality: Being born from sorrow, he can endlessly resurrect from universal sadness.
The Shadow Behind Minor Land
Noise, the true power behind Minor Land, operates in secret and builds power while sealed in a stone slab. He orchestrates invasions, the brainwashing of Mephisto, and commands dark forces led by Falsetto.
Escape and Deception
During Episode 37, Noise partially escapes his seal in an incomplete, bird-like form and approaches Ako Shirabe under the guise of "Pi-chan." Although he cannot speak, he effectively communicates with Falsetto, manipulates normal citizens, and tries to steal the Fairy Tones, even targeting Otokichi Shirabe. Once discovered by Ako and company, he retreats to Minor Land.
Full Resurrection and Attack
In Episode 44, Noise is fully revived after Falsetto sings the completed "Melody of Misfortune" using all the notes from the Legendary Score, turning most humans to stone and silencing the world. He then invades Major Land.
Battle with Suite PreCure
Episode 45 features an intense battle between Noise and Suite PreCure, where he is wounded by "PreCure Passionato Harmony" but manages to temporarily seal Otokichi and Crescendo Tone. In Episode 46, Noise absorbs the Trio the Minor, reveals his final form, and overwhelms the Suite PreCure team, turning Major Land into a world of silence.
Climactic End and Redemption
In Episode 47, enraged by the Suite PreCure members’ sympathy for his origins, he fights desperately but is ultimately defeated and purified by the team's ultimate attack, "PreCure Suite Session Ensemble Crescendo." Just before disappearing, Noise smiles for the first time after Hibiki Hōjō extends a hand to him.
Epilogue and Later Appearances
In the final episode, Noise returns in bird form, now mostly white, and is warmly accepted by Hibiki and her friends, living peacefully with Ako. He also appears as a cameo character in later PreCure All Stars movies.
- Falsetto and the Trio the Minor: Loyal subordinates carrying out Noise’s orders.
- Ako Shirabe: Briefly deceived by Noise’s bird form but later confronts him as an enemy.
- Otokichi Shirabe and Crescendo Tone: Past adversaries who once sealed him away.
- Hibiki Hōjō (Cure Melody) and Suite PreCure: His primary rivals who ultimately redeem him.
- Despite his fearsome appearance, Noise’s fate is unusually gentle for a villain, as he finds peace and acceptance in the end.
- In PreCure All Stars: Spring Carnival, he appears as a non-speaking background character.
- In PreCure All Stars: Everyone Sings! The Miracle Magic!, he is shown as an illusion conjured by Sorcière.
